WGHQ Translator 92.5 W223CR Signs on The air

Pamal Broadcasting switched on its WGHQ Translator 92.5 W223CR,Kingston a week ago, on Friday February 24. I just noticed it this past Friday . It provides a significant improvement over WGHQ’s nighttime coverage. The 130 watt signal is fairly strong in Hyde Park, fading a bit in Poughkeepsie. WGHQ did not reach Hyde Park at night.
The programing is Hudson Valley’s Real Country, bringing the total of Country Stations in the Poughkeepsie area to four. I don’t see how they will all attract an audience.
I did notice The Kingston only Radio Kingston was not on on Friday. I know host Walter Maxwell passed away last August, but his crew planned on continuing the local public affairs talk show. Having not listened to the station in a long time I don’t know if this is the case.
