Listening to WGNY 1220 online today around 12:30 PM...I'm hearing a DJ Bob O...I haven't heard any commercial spots...Could it be they have no sponors at this time period ? Also is his show being voice tracked or is it live ? They are still playing music of the 50s & 60s, could this be the reason for no commercials ?

WGNY 1220 No Commercials & On Air being Voice Tracked

And look what happened during drive time. WGNY is now carrying a syndicated political talk show with Lou Dobbs from CNN. Lou is on from 3 PM until 7 PM and then after that "When Radio Was" playing old time radio and then back to the music. There is a website of Lou Dobbs is on here.

Come on WGNY, gimme some more oldies music or add another watts. The station does come out okay in Kingston for an oldies fix. I still enjoyed listening to WGNY-AM for a little bit because of this mess at WBPM playing too much classic rock just like the old WRKW from the "Quality Rock" days back in 1999 until 2003.
If they should simulcast on 1200 AM to get back on the air soon, I hope the Kingston area is going to be listening to 50's and 60's oldies music for a long time. I hear that the 1200 AM frequency is still silent like WCKL does with its BUFNY garbage at 560 with those awful silent signals.

Thanks for the link son, I just joined up. What board this could use is good father son team. I agree, WGNY Adding watts would make it more better then having not many watts then before. putting 1200 on would help make sense in getting oldies over in Kingston and many people would listen to 1200 oldies but not the 1220 oldies because the signal might not simulcast to good with 1200 so close and Staticy. Bob & Sheri would make better on 1200 because i love them so much!

I forgot to say in that post, Bob & Sheri are not coming to 1200 AM, they're on Lite-FM 98.5. I loved their show as well as the podcast. Some AM stations in every state had Bob & Sheri on there. I loved their show and it was a lot of fun, it's godzillion times better than Howard Stern, Opie & Anthony and Don Imus.

You can't be serious in saying that Bob & Sheri are better than Howard, O&A, or Imus. Judging by your posting history, you sadly are serious.
Howard is Howard. He might be one of the first people called a "shock jock" but unlike the wanna-bee team of O&A, he doesn't say things simply for shock but instead said what's on his mind. The same reason people like him is the same reason you like Bob & Sheri and that is because the one thing they have in common is that they are who they are and that is what you hear on the air.
I really think that at one point O&A were a funny team that crossed the line from time to time. Today they are beyond has-been and it's only a matter of time before they end up like Imus. Imus=old, irrelevant, seconds from death, but still gaining affiliates left and right because the appearance of his face reflects what our country looks like right now.
On a separate note I'd like to ask what the procedure is for splitting this board into two separate boards. One for Albany / Glens Falls and the other one for the Hudson Valley. Please be not offended, but I think the endless postings about daytimer AM's keeps the Albany people away and let's be honest here about the board: you can't hear Albany stations in most of HV and you can't hear HV stations in most of Albany.
Anyone else agree?
