WGNY has announced that a forgotten Hudson Valley personality is coming back on the air to WGNY's morning show July 27.

I thought all of the "forgotten" HV personalities were either dead or out of the business? :)

Ignore my last question. Obviously it's the AM based on the Headline ::)

In that case it would most likely be someone from the Orange County (Newburgh-Middletown) market. Who's still around?

Rich Ball also came to my mind. I was trying to think of the people I worked with at WALL in the mid-70s, or friends at WGNY in those days, but most of them are accounted for (either living or dead).

As a forgotten radio personality myself, if I would venture a guess it would be former WGNY radio personality John Moultrie.

Could be but only 1 problem there, he's not heritage or from the 1960s or 1970s...

The only WGNY personalities from the late 60s or early-mid 70s I can think of off-hand might be Geoff Tops or Bob Krieger. Not sure about Geoff, but the last I knew Bob was a train engineer on the LIRR. Is Joe Manglass still around? He could be coming back for another stint.

Was retired. The new (old) guy will be bringing back the traffic hawk with him... if he still has his pilots license.

The traffic Hawk I remember was on 1450 WKIP, Poughkeepsie with Van Ritchie in the morning when they did live local AC music . But that was a very long time ago.
I thought WKIP then locally owned gave up on the hawk do to the expense

Bingo.
You didnt think it would be a young, good looking boy, did you?

Is Van still around? I worked with him at WPTR 30 years ago.
