WGRI AM 1050 Moving to WCVX Towers, Florence, Ky.

Due to upcoming Brent Spence new bridge construction, the existing AM 1050 tower next to I-75/I-71 is going to be demolished. Looks like WGRI will be diplexing the signal at the current WCVX 4-tower site in Florence, Ky. Good thing they have an FM translator. The nighttime signal at the new location won't even make it into downtown Cincinnati.

They'd be better off signal wise moving to WNOP, WDBZ, or WDJO, but they don't already have access to those sites. I just wonder how long the 1160 site is going to last among all of those subdivisions.
 
Does anyone care? It's on AM which is at the end of it's life at this point and the programming has limited appeal to the public.They might as well turn in the license and sell the land.

They don't own the land and they have to have the AM to run the translator. So, no they shouldn't turn in the license and they can't sell land they don't own.
 
I was referring to 1160. The last time they had anyone listened to them was 20 years ago when they were sports talk and before that when they were 1160 Bob when they had the Bengals games. I guess they are making money for the owner with the religious programs although both have low listenership.

So was I. Christian Broadcasting does not own the 1160 tower site.
 
And I hear what you're saying. They could just turn in the license for 1050 and add the translator to 1160, but they are really two different types of religious formats.
