What AM/FM/TV do you hear midday beyond 60 miles at your location?

Did not know there was a 1070 right near your location.

At night, when they power down to 28 watts, there isn't!  ;D
They disappear completely.

Like swfl I've gotten WWL quite well (and daily) w/ a sensitve radio 2 mi inland from Englewood Beach (1/2 way bet. Tampa and Naples) as well as Vanderbilt beach in Naples. 6 mi inland from Naples is another story. Tried to get WWL S of Naples in Everglades City FL (a fishin town w/ a drinkin problem) but no such luck-the car radio is only ave at best.
It's probably a semi local in Key West.

What about on the FM side? I used to live down in Englewood back in the mid 90's and remember being able to pick-up COOL 105.9 (WOCL) from Orlando if the conditions were just right. I know WOCL is now called something else, but can you still pick it up down there? That station has a monster signal coming all the way from Deland.

Receiving 105.9 from Orlando, in Englewood, is no longer possible, with "the Buzz" WTZB 105.9 licensed to Englewood (with antenna in Venice) coming on the air several years ago.

I'm about 3 blocks from the bay on the fringe of downtown St. Pete and I can get the Buzz out of Englewood days and night; it's only when the tropo is just right that WOCL will override WTZB, but I'm sure that from south Brandenton south, Orlando's 105.9 coming in even with tropo is probably history.

Yes 105.9 from Orlando made the trip to Englewood along with 96.5 Orlando until a few years ago. Those 2 were the strongest orlando FM's or at least the only 2 I listened to.
I don't remember the calls but one can getsome stuff from Miami and Orlando as well as 1600 Key West, a couple of X banders from the Redneck Riviera, the aforementioned WWL.
On FM the Tampa-St Pete stations make the 60mi trip easily.

Here in Niles, OH about 10 mi. N-NW of Youngstown in my car:

550 - WKRC - Cincinnati, OH
610 - WTVN - Columbus, OH
630 - CFCO - Chattam, ON
700 - WLW - Cincinnati, OH
740 - CFZM - Toronto, ON
760 - WJR - Detroit, MI
800 - CKLW - Windsor, ON
890 - WLS - Chicago, IL (Very Weak)
1520 - WKBW - Buffalo, NY
1650 - ???? - Didn't listen long enough to ID
1680 - ???? - Didn't listen long enough to ID

Get many others as well but these are the ones I was able to ID while tuning around in the car from 11:30-12:00 Noon today.

On my trips to Atlanta I can receive both WJR and CKLW in Kentucky until I get about halfway between Cincinnati and Lexington, KY.

It was Radio Disney. Went to their website and checked. There is a listing for WHKT-AM 1650 (a Radio Disney affiliate) in Norfok, VA.

Part of the problem is that there's now a 1070 in Pensacola. 15kw IIRC, which is enough put a pretty decent signal onto the beach and stomp on WLNO to some extent. This is WNVY, which used to be on 1090 with a weaker signal.

Not to second guess the people at WNVY or anything, but it's surprising that their pre-sunrise authority shows that they have to protect KAAY. Not that it really matters, since they probably couldn't do much better with a renegotiated deal for 1070, what with being co-channel with WAPI.

Also, IIRC, WLNO has a "funky" pattern, so it may just be that our beach location is in a bad spot for them.

I've found that WLNO's daytime "augmentations" are interesting, to say the least. Also note that over the past few years they've have some really bad issues, not the least of which was nearby power line towers that needed to be detuned. Although things have apparently been straightened out for some time, I noticed in their STA requests that they mentioned the power company towers have "historically" been a problem at the Belle Chasse site, so that's something to consider.

Is that the same site they used back in the WNOE days

Yes, it is.

WOCL just has a monster signal. It is probably the most frequent 105.9 we get in the Charleston area, even with two others much closer (Brunswick, GA and North Myrtle Beach). When there's skip, it comes in up until Savannah when Brunswick replaces it.

It is frequently listenable around the Tampa Bay area, too. For TV, I can't get anything but my locals OTA after the big switch, but before, even with rabbit ears, WSAV would come in well often at night, along with WTOC. WOLO Columbia also came in frequently, along with WIS and WLTX. I got the Jacksonville UHFs several times, along with 6 and 9 out of Orlando. Once or twice, I got 12 and 26 from Augusta. Pretty good with just rabbit ears.

WOCL does have a monster signal. When I lived in Florida about fifteen years ago, WOCL was pretty reliable from as far north as the Georgia/Florida state line to as far south as Lake Okeechobee and Port Charlotte. Unfortunately, I guess there's now a new station on 105.9 over by Englewood which would hurt reception on the Gulf Coast side, but it's still probably one of the few FM signals in Florida that can cover almost all parts of the state (Panhandle and Miami excluded).

I'll always have fond memories of COOL 105.9! 8)

Likewise at WKRC. It doesn't exactly peel paint here in Columbus, and I'm 150 miles closer than you. WGR is very loud in Conneaut, and that's not far north of you.

HELLO!

About a year ago I added a Sangean PR-D5 to my radio roster for use as a better-than-pedestrian bedside clock radio, and did I get a pleasant surprise. This multi form factor stereo radio with a better-than-average FM tuner sports some near-stunning AM reception ability also! I haven't had it out of the house [and the Cincinnati urban area] until today though. A family get-together at east-central Indiana's Brookville Lake gave me an opportunity to put the Sangean thru its paces. The location was about 40-miles northwest of Cincinnati, a few miles northeast of Brookville, IN on the east shore of the lake. This locale has no commercial development or residential population and the noise that usually goes with it.

As a reference for comparison, I toted my trusty 30-year-old Panasonic RF-2200 along. The still-pristine 2200 has managed over its many years to slightly edge-out every portable radio I have purchased that followed it with claims of AM reception supremacy—including my GE SR-1 and C Crane CC Radio Plus. I'm pleased to report that the "barefoot" Sangean [at just $60 and some change] gave the venerable old Panasonic a run for its money in shear reception ability. Both radios logged the same stations at near-identical quality. The PR-D5's noteworthy reception comes at the cost of audio frequency response caused by its VERY NARROW I.F. bandwidth. While demod is very clean [and fine for voice formats], it appears to "brick wall" all transmitted audio beyond just 2-2.5KHz – putting it behind the other three radios in AM sound quality [especially the single-bandwidth SR-1, dual bandwidth RF-2200, and a 2KHz detuned CCR+].

Here's the "beyond 60-miles" reception log from 2-3PM today:
[unless noted, signal quality was moderate to good]

570 – WKBN – Youngstown, OH [very weak; just above the noise floor]

610 – WTVN – Columbus, OH [strong]
630 – WLAP – Lexington, KY
640 – WHLO – Akron. OH [very weak]
650 – WSM – Nashville, TN [very weak; at the noise floor and difficult to copy]

760 – WJR – Detroit, MI
770 – WCGW – Nicholasville, KY [weak; with WBBM's IBOC in the background]

790 – WKRD – Louisville, KY [weak; with WBBM-induced I-BAD]
800 – CKLW – "The Motor City" [as they used to sing]
810 – WSYW – Indianapolis, IN [weak]

1300 – WXLC – Lexington, KY [excellent signal for a 5kw "regional" in the 13s!]
1310 – WTLC – Indianapolis, IN [weak]

1370 – WGCL – Bloomington, IN [weak; splatter and IBOC hash from WSAI Cincinnati]
1380 – WKJG – Fort Wayne, IN [weak; the former Top-40 WMEE still makes it downstate!]
1390 – WZZB – Seymour, IN [weak here; good 1kw signal, music format IN STEREO!]
