I posted a similar post on the CHR Board, so im changing it, rewordiing it a bit on here.. Outside my local market I havent been monitering CHR radio lately. So now that Spring of 2010 is here, what are the most Dance Friendly CHRs in the U.S that seem to lean on Dance Crossovers. The CBS CHRs and most of the NOW stations seem to be the most dance friendly, but maybe they all sound like this now...

Mix 96-SA. Currently on rotation Taio Cruz and La Roux. Recurrents DHT & Daft Punk.

KTFM-SA recently added Taio Cruz. Friday nights and Saturday nights mix live from two different venues.

(KGSX) La Calle 95.1- Mixes all weekend. Beginning at 5p Friday and ends Monday 12am. A mix of both Spanish & English.

David Guetta on regular rotation on all 3 stations listed above.

Hit 106 (WHTG/WBBO Jersey Shore) is starting to lean a CHR/Dance direction with some spins of Lasgo, Tiesto, Daft Punk, and their Hitmix @ 5 brokeout the mashup of Tag Team vs 666.

WBLI on Long Island and Z100 can be fairly dance friendly at times. Both are pretty quick to add dance songs that do cross to CHR, both have played numerous dance songs in pretty high rotation, and play some dance in re-currents and gold. I would also put the Beach 101.7 on eastern LI (though I haven't heard them in a few months) in this category as well as what Tony said with K 104.7 in Poughkeepsie, which probably is the most dance friendly of these four.

thnks for your responses guys. I didnt realize Fun 107 and K-104.7 where still dance friendly.. Too bad Z-1035 Toronto doent lean dance at this time, but with lots of other CHRs in their market, plus they own Proud 103.9 which is all dance, it doesnt surprise me why Z-103.5 isnt all that Dancy right now.

Proud 103.9 is a tiny 50 watt station, Z103.5 is a 50000 watt station that makes it across the lake into New York.

Actually its 30,0000 watts, but not nitpicking.. the other chrs in Toronto will eventually flip while the Z will reign supreme, and eventually go back to leaning dance again,, their mishows at least are still dance leaning.

Whatya guys think about WXXL Orlando, XL-106.7?? Right now they're spinning a dance song called Bulletproof by La Roux. Obviously they're 'dayparted' format isn't all that dance friendly outside that one song, BUT, after nightfall..........Mon - Thurs @10 is the nightly dance 'mix', which I think lasts about an hour, except for Weds nite which is ladies night at the Martini restaurant, that usually lasts several hours. Friday Nites mix starts early, around 8 an continues well into the night. These mix's are mainly current CHR songs (remixes), mixed together, although the friday nite show mixed in a bunch of old school songs. However, Saturday night is the real treat. A true dance mix, techno style. To me its like listening to Pulse 87s saturday night mix. Can't speak for sunday night, had to fly back home today. Got some great airchecks though.

You can add Hot 100.5 (WVHT Norfolk/Virginia Beach) to the lineup. I picked them up via tropo from the Jersey Shore and heard Bulletproof as well as the ralphi rosario remix of Naturally from Selena Gomez, the fred folke remix of Tick Tock from Ke$ha, and the Karmatronic remix of Halo from Beyonce, and does lean on a rhythmic side.

Can't forget about Sirius-XM Hits One which is currently playing Deadmau5 - Ghosts'N'Stuff and Steve Aoki - I'm in the House
