...maybe there just aren't three...
The things I like-
1. Lots of sports talk. I like sports talk.
2. The fact KQV exists as a news station. Lots of markets don't have one.
3. And finally, I don't care if they broadcast silent meditation or not, the score is Jesus 1, Rap 0, proving once again that there is no hip-hop in heaven.
After all, how ya gonna scratch a harp?

According to http://www.440int.com/namesb1.html, she's now a grants specialist for Pitt-Johnstown. Don't know how current that info is.

Not every market has a Doo Wop station like 770 . I think Doo Wop is as genuinely Americana as Dixieland or Bee Bop.
She didn't have time for a lowly intern. But was still very nice.
Didn't she have some bad experience overnights on a talk show that made her leave radio?

I think that after years of doing a music show, she was taken aback a bit by the hostility of some of the callers. It wasn't anything an experienced talk host would even noticed, but I think it jolted her to be dealing with the kind of angry people who call KDKA shows. I'm sure it wasn't very pleasant, especially at 3 a.m.

1) WJAS-------Tampa doesn't even have a station that plays this stuff
2 ) WQED FM-------Tampa is losing classical music as it being moved to Sarasota and WUSF will be boring liberal talk as opposed to repetitive conservative talk.
3) KQV-----Tampa does not have an real all news station.

It seams Pittsburgh radio is going back to the 60's Terry Lee on WJAS with a waving signal here in the North Hills just like WMCK did to Pittsburgh Proper at night. Frankie Day and his all Oldies on 770 aka Porky Chedwick on WAMO. WDVE of course with the SAME 60's Playlist. WKVE 103.1 Redoing WYDD.

On behalf of all the fine people at Broadcast Communications Inc. - and even the not-so-fine people
(JUST KIDDING!), I thank everyone for the mentions of WKVE, Frankie Day, 770, etc.
To the question at hand: I have to recuse myself from anything on our three stations. I also recuse
myself from mentioning the big Pittsburgh stations. While some of them are good, or competent, it's
my opinion that there's nothing "can't-miss" there.
That said, here are the shows I enjoy most. Your tastes may vary.
1. Jay Thurber on WRCT, Saturdays from Noon-3 PM (when not pre-empted by sports)
2. Terry Lee on WJAS, Sundays 8 PM-Midnight
3. Jeff Gerard on WLSW, Weekdays 3-7 PM
Also, I get a kick out of the "Mighty Memory Mobile" reruns on WEDO (featuring Garry Moore!), when
they're running (they aren't at this time).
