Yes, having met her a couple of times I got the same impression that she was just too nice a person for that gig.
Aside from hostile a lot of KD's late night calls could be unbearably depressing. A lot of the calls that Perry Marshall
used to get, or certainly Father Lengwin whenever he filled in. People with such long lists of problems you felt they
were probably on a suicide watch. You just had to lunge for the off button after awhile.
 
1. - 620 KHB's musical playlist. In my opinion the best mix of 60's and 70's musical programming in Pittsburgh (It kind of reminds me of WPEZ, circa 1976).

2. - The oldies/jukebox/doo-wop music on 770 KFB (That is of course when Frankie Day isn't feeling the need to repeat his name 18 times between every song)

3. - The oldies/jukebox/doo-wop music by Big Ray in the morning and Candy and Mike in the afternoons on WEDO. Listening to WEDO via the web while at work is very cool as well.
 
I'll chime in with:

* Clarke Ingram's oldies shifts on 620/KFB.
* Jay Thurber on WRCT.
* Dr. Knowledge on KDKA.

Of course, I know the first two personally, and have met the third, so feel free to discount my list.
 
1- Sean McDowell - He's an icon. The real deal. He has delivered for YEARS. There is nobody more prepped and tight as McDowell. PERIOD

2- Mark Madden on the X - didn't think it would work at first, but it does in a big way.

3 - Monty & Zeke on WDSY - Not a country fan but those guys are really funny when you can catch them between the music.
