WHAT ARE THE CALL LETTERS OF 100.5 GOING TO BE??

WSNV is a station in Lynchburg, VA. Apparently the calls of WLNE are available for radio but they are being used by a TV station. Cumulus could decide to move heritage call letters from another market to 100.5 This is common to keep competitors from picking up the calls and causing brand confusion. Likewise, Cumulus may move the WNNX calls to another market.

WNTX - Not 99x
WCCS - Clear Channel Sucks
WSSS - Southside Steve
WARS - Atlanta's Rock Station
WTRG - The Regular Guys

WWWT - What Were We Thinking?
WULY - Wish Us Luck, Ya'll.
WAWG - Where Are We Going?
WLOR - We Lost Our Rudder.
WTKD - What's This Knob Do?
WTCS - What'd The Consultants Say?

Those calls found a home in Stanford/Norwalk at 95.9 the Fox...

I loved this of my old station...

WFAS- We're Frazzled and Stressed

***

For the calls that are on TV and not radio, if a radio station wants to use them, they must get the blessing of the TV station first, then file to use the format W***-TV.

That's what the Frenches went through with WRNN-TV (radio to TV), and the reverse holds true.

While those are all very amusing, my information leads me to believe that none of them are applicable. Some salespeople I know from when I worked with them at WSB, and are at Cumulus now, told me Steve McCoy was in the building today.

A friend of a friend told you? Very convincing.

Earlier someone mkentioned that Cox gave uo the WFOX call letters. The company did not give them up. even thought we don't have them here in Atlanta, Cox kept the WFOX call letters and game them to anohter station that they own with the Fox monkier.

I mentioned that. This is something that CC does. WFOX was an amazing station in its day, just still don't understand why they did that??????????? "WSRV" sounds like a disease.........

I don't understand... why can't Q100 (on 99.7fm) keep WWWQ? Then ditch WNNX (too much heritage and association to keep around) and bring in new calls for the new 100.5?

Hello read the name of the thread. That is what we are talking abvout. The new call letters on 100.5.

I'm hearing them use both on 99.7 - and definately not TOH. I'll have to check out 100.5 if I can make it through the stunt. :D

to the left..to the left..
