What are your go to radio stations online Fm or sat and why?

I think Kola 99.9 a great listen.Lots of songs I haven't heard in ages like New Order Temptation and Madonna Dress You Up in the past 15 mins .

Others would a mention BBC radio 2 Ken Bruce not only for music Steve Van Zan picking his fav tracks this week and the pop quiz pop master daily at 10.30am is must listen.

Over to you what are you your choices and reason why.

I used to be a big fan of WAKY, but they geo-fenced due to cost so no more...

WATD FM Marshfield MA ... I listen to good music and the lovely & talented Audrey Constant mid days.
Ed Perry who owns the station is a personal hero to me, right up there with the late Simon Geller
www.959WATD.com

SXM 50's, 60's, 70's , Channel 17 The Blend, Classic Vinyl, Classic Rewind, Yacht Rock Radio, Beatles, Elvis, Tom Petty, 1st Wave on Ch 33 are my presets but I will listen to other channels as the mood strikes me. Why those channels? I am old and finding that music on terrestrial radio ain't easy although it is easier here in SW Florida than it is in Boston/Southern NH

For me, it’s 50s Gold and 60s Gold on SiriusXM (channels 72 and 73, respectively). I’d listen to K-Surf on KKGO 105.1 HD4 Los Angeles, but their playlist is too 70s based for my tastes, and the signal constantly cuts in and out while I’m driving. I know I’m an outlier by liking these decades of music, since I’m only going on 36.

Great insight thank you for sharing.

K surf a good listen and always sounds fresh and tight

In the car I am limited. WSAT 1280 was America's Best Music for nine years and Unforgettable for four years before that but the man who ran it thought Westwood One had dropped it and switched to Good Time Oldies six years ago. The man admitted that he believed only people over seventy listened to the songs WSAT wasn't playing any more. Sometimes what I hear is good, sometimes there are oldies I wasn't hearing before but I like, and sometimes it's not what I want.

WAIZ "63 Big WAYS" (recalling "61 Big WAYS", the legendary Charlotte Top 40) plays better oldies, all from the 50s and 60s. These include actual standards. But the signal is kind of hard to hear unless I am closer to Charlotte. And it's actually west of Charlotte.

WAME 550 is classic country and has signal problems but close to and north of Charlotte it sounds good.

WZKY 1580 "Magic 103.3" is similar to WSAT and has a better signal in some areas.

All of the above stations have translators.

WBT 1110 was my Rush Limbaugh station but they didn't put his replacement on and I've quit listening, period.

WBRF "Classic Country 98.1" is in the mountains of southern Virginia thought the transmitter is in NC. It covers Greensboro so if I'm in the area I listen to that station. It has evolved to include more of the recent songs and fewer of the really old songs, at least as a percentage of what I hear when I listen.

Online I listened to several America's Best Music affiliates, especially 1280 WNAM Appleton, WI (no translator!) but if i can hear oldies and soft AC in the car, why bother?

WERT Van Wert, OH was suggested in a Facebook group where people share my taste in music, but if standards was once "middle of the road", this is all over the road. Lots of good big band music and instrumentals, but sometimes it goes too far playing AC, and there's a lot of weird stuff.

KTUC Tucson was the best of the stations suggested on this site. Lots of standards but not really much big band or instrumental music, lots of early rock and roll, and almost nothing from after 1970 except people like Michael Buble and Rod Stewart recording new versions of old songs. There's a big band show on Sunday which I'm listening to right now.
