While watching "Talk to Me" & "Talk Radio" recently...made me ponder the question...

What are your Top 10 Radio Movies of all-time?

Some potential candidates include:

* Good Morning Vietnam - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Good_Morning_Vietnam

* Private Parts - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_Parts_%281997_film%29

* Airheads - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airheads

* Talk to Me - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_to_Me_%282007_film%29

* Talk Radio - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk_Radio_%28film%29

* A Prairie Home Companion - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Prairie_Home_Companion_%28film%29

* Radio Days - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Days

* FM - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FM_(film)

* Straight Talk - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straight_Talk

* Play Misty for Me - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Play_Misty_for_Me

* Pump up the Volume - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pump_Up_the_Volume_(film)

* Other radio movies - ???? (I'm sure I'm missing many other radio movies)

...hmmm...you missed three of the very best:

AMERICAN HOT WAX
THE HOLLYWOOD KNIGHTS
TIMES SQUARE

...also two short films:

WEDNESDAY with Jack Lemmon
TALKBACK, New Zealand film from Alison MacLean, director of the 2004 documentary PERSONS OF INTEREST

Play Misty For Me is my fav. However, Clint Eastwood is working for a small FM, playing jazz, and living like he earns mucho dinaro. Hardly realistic.

Don't forget the original "Vanishing Point" with Cleavon Little and Barry Newman. And who could forget the Real Don Steele doing "remotes" in Death Race 2000!

...as well as ROCK 'N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL? And Murray the K doing the same in I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND?...

...and, since this is in the News/Talk forum, wouldn't Paul Newman in WUSA rate a mention?...

* Radioland Murders - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radioland_Murders

This bombed at the theaters, in pay per view, and on video... but I laughed myself SICK at this one... anybody who's tried to coordinate a live show / remote and anybody who has an appreciation for the old-time radio shows should get a real kick out of this one.

I have it on DVD, and have to watch it a MINIMUM of twice a year. 8)
