What Did SF & SD Viewers Get On CBS In Lieu of SD/OAK Game Delay & DEN/DAL Game ??

Did they go local & wait until primetime to pick up NFL Network's broadcast of (What was supposed to be) the CBS broadcast of the SD/OAK game or did you guys get DEN/DAL like most of the rest of the country did ??

Also what did they do with CBS Primetime that night ??

Cheers & 73 :)

San Francisco had it pretty good; because the game was offered in syndication by NFL Network, indepdent KRON was able to get it, so KPIX aired the CBS lineup in pattern while KRON only disappointed a few SVU repeat fans. Odd that KBCW didn't get it though as KPIX's sister station though.

San Diego did get it on KFMB, so there CBS primetime was just bumped past midnight, requiring DVR'ing, staying up late, or watching later on demand.

And both markets got Dallas/Denver since with San Francisco playing in primetime, everyone got all the games they could in both markets that week.

I'm kind of surprised that KPIX didn't air the game; weren't they the station originally scheduled to air it at its normal time -- and if so, wouldn't they have already sold/booked advertising time in it? Or maybe they had trouble selling spots and thus didn't necessarily mind losing the game.

They probably kept most of their money and ads airing Dallas/Denver; it probably did not get the local ratings the Raiders would, but the advertisers still got plenty of eyeballs they would have had with the original plan. Compare to a postponement due to weather or such; CBS and the NFL aren't going to let an affiliate be stuck filling the time with Byron Allen programming or paid sports shows and would have substituted in another game anyways.
