What did The Cow have to say about the demise of The Zone

> Anybody listen?? Did he comment??
>
He said that he hates Brian "the Whipping Boy" or "The Gay Mule" as he was known on Mancow, and he ripped Freak for screwing him and jumping ship to the Zone. Other than that, he never said anything about Sludge, or James Van Osdol. I emailed Steve Fisher at 9FM to try to get a heads up and see if he would leak some inside info on if any of them are going to 9FM, but he could not tell me if they were or not, he said it is Chicago radio and they will bounce back from it.

9FM

Anyone else thinking 9 should be a rocker...like the zone....that stuff plays better in the burbs....hey a 1.4 is beter than .7 right?

If a full market signal could only get a 1.4, how could the 9 trimulcast do the same with worse coverage. They would probably get approximately the same ratings as they are currently getting.

that they are welcoming any disfranchised Zone listeners to B96.

Not to bring it up but, remember energy scored a 1.2 summer'01 on the duo. Anything is possible.
Edited by alex on 09/28/05 05:57 PM.

Re: 9FM

Their signal is stronger than 92.7s trimulcast. It wouldn't be a bad idea if they superserved the areas they're strongest in. I don't know how many businesses would be tuned in during the day. But trading a .7 for a 1.5 on sticks with limited capabilities can be done in a variety of ways.

Re: 9FM

It would be a waste for WKIE to go up against WIIL the north. WKIE is one of the two pillers holding the trimlcast up in well demo'd and monied North Cook/South Lake counties. WDEK would loose ground to WXRX, Rockford...but who cares there. And WRZA covers more corn/soybeans than people. So why waste that one on a demo which is not that well monied.

It would be a bad move for them.

It took Energy a good two years to get that 1.5. We'll see how NINE is doing going into the Spring book.

BTW, I heard through the vine they did a $500K month in July.
