What do you guys and gals think of louie 104.3???

Louie has updated their imaging. They have a new voice and a new slogan..." Louisville's Greatest Hits"
They also say they are live and local.... which is most of the time with Delilah and now with Tom Kent on Saturday nights. I guess two radio shifts a day with local personalities makes them live & local.

I like their music rotation... I've heard the Beach Boys all the way up to late 80's...

I really like Louie. I just wish they would move to 105.9 so that the signal was better. 105.9 is being wasted right now with it's simulcast of 93.9.
WAY FM owns 93.9,104.3,and 105.9 so I don't see a problem with moving Louie to 105.9.

I don't see any problem other than the fact they don't own it -:).

No, I'm not saying that all all, They are both class "A" FM's. Both are rim shots of Louisville. What I'm saying is how do you know that WAY FM would LMA or sell 105.9 FM? If they don't that's the problem. It's not a frequency you can broadcast from if you don't own it. And the next problem can WLUE afford a LMA on both 104.3 and 105.9 and make it cost effective. That's my point. It cost money to take over these signals. Can you make them cash flow? You can't just switch frequency with the owner because you want the other one. These signals aren't free.

So you are saying that 104.3 is a better frequency to be on than 105.9?

I know the signals aren't free  All I'm saying is that if it can be arranged,WLUE could move to 105.9 and have better coverage of Louisville. Listen to 104.3 and 105.9. Which one sounds best in Louisville?

No, I'm not saying 104.3 is a better signal than 105.9 for Louisville metro coverage. Neither of them are great signals. Both are rim shots. What I'm saying is: 104.3 is owned by Way FM. So is 105.9. I doubt Way FM would let the Smith's out of the 104.3 lease and move to 105.9. It really doesn't behoove them to do so. That would give them 104.3 back and they clearly don't want that. So the Smith's would have to continue leasing 104.3 and strike a deal for another lease for 105.9. I assume Way FM would do that in a minute. But, could LOUIE cash flow with that much debt? Who knows.. But, I'm sure the idea is/has been tossed around.

I understand that Future Bob is joining the line up so they will have 3 personalities, all local folks. I'm not sure they are live other than Rocky & Troy but live or voice tracked it's good to have local jocks on the air. L

Except for during delilahs show i dont here a single song i like.

Yet, I'm the complete opposite. I switch Louie 104.3 off when Delilah comes ON!

Is it just me but doesn't WLUE sound a lot like WAKY now? They are playing a lot of the same 60's - mid 70's music that WAKY plays.Sometimes when I'm listening,I'm not sure if I'm listening to WLUE or WAKY.

Lovin' Louie!

I think the station sounds great now. Like the fact that they still slip in a Motown tune every once in a while. The imaging sounds great. And I think Rocky and Troy are actually pretty funny.

I really like their mix of music....
Two recent observations:
1. Future Bob & Joe are flipping shifts starting today
2. Delilah was not on last night... I punched them in last night and noticed they were running normal programming. Did they dump her?

I looked at their website and Delilah was no where to be found.I guess she's gone from WLUE.She would fit better on Easy Rock 105.1 anyway. She might show up on that station after Christmas 105.1 is over.

One year ago on February 1st WLUE "Louie 104.3" left the air.I was hoping that they would have found a new home like they had talked about doing at the time.
I think a Classic Hits format like theirs with the Rocky And Troy morning show and the other personalities would work on a stronger signal.
I just thought the other day that if WGHL could get Rocky and Troy for mornings they would really draw listeners to the station.Of course that won't happen now since Classic Hits were dropped by WGHL :(
It's ironic that Classic Hits were dropped almost exactly one year apart by two different stations.
