WHAT DOES THE FCC SAYS ABOUT HARSH FOUL Languages On AM Radio

I hate to bring this up since my memory is so hazy about it, BUT . . .
what was the name of the person who always complained about Mancow Muller to the FCC and then also about Emmis Broadcasting? Smith (?????) something keeps popping to the surface of my brain. Nah, couldn't be. :-[

I find it interesting that you were the only person who heard this. No comments about it in the local papers or on any other message boards. I understand listenership to AM radio is low, but I imagine they have at least two listeners at 5PM.

Their web page offers podcasts of their entire shows, so you might listen to them if check if your ears weren't playing tricks on you. Perhaps the Gen Y male in the car next to you with all his windows down blasting his favorite rap music, and not the radio in your cab?

By the way, unless your cab driver has a law degree, I wouldn't take what he says as fact.

They were talking about the world series (in which I can care less about) in which involves with one of the baseball players and made a bad comment saying "That Dumb Ass Mother F---. should of made a grand slam! what a dumb F----- N----!
he should of pick up the F---g ball and throw to home base instead!
"

Was it the actual unedited words or did they bleep little parts out so that you knew what the words were, but didn't hear the whole thing? I find it really hard to believe that a big corporate station like that would let that out and that no one else seems to have noticed.

A radio personality Karel, who did a show on San Francisco station KGO was fired today for saying, F*** Joe the plumber several time's and something to the affect that he wanted Joe the plumber dead. The on air incident occured on Nov.1,2008.So do the math.Look's like Karel's career is dead.

Karel's mistake was having an open mic when he thought they were off. What the OP here seems to be suggesting is that the sports talk guy said all that stuff knowingly on the air. His lack of clarification leads me to believe the words were bleeped but he still wants stuff like that treated as if the actual words were said... Which is stupid but... ::)

Krakel's mistake was using FOUL LANGUAGE at any instance in a studio period. I feel that's the best practice. I think twice of even saying such stuff in my office or hallway at the broadcast facility I work for. It just has a way of biting you when you least expect it to...
