HD? Hot 106.3 can't even get a decent analog signal into parts of Providence, and they have no plans of fixing that anytime soon.

I now that hot 106.3 has a crappy signal but the area that i live signal is fine.

I forgot to tell HOT 106.3 can increase their signal to 50KW if they buy 106.3 in Springfield and the other 106.3 in North Boston.

That's not increasing power, that's buying adjacent stations on the same frequency. And there is no 106.3 in North Boston, you must mean WFNQ Nashua, NH which has a decent signal in the Boston area.

Plus why would they do that if they target the Providence, RI area, not the Springfield, MA or Nashua, NH areas.

Last time I check, N.H. is North of Boston and so is Canada.

No, they can't. Buying those stations doesn't eliminate the allotments, which still need to be protected. There are also spacing issues to WCOD and WBMW that prevent WWKX from upgrading.

What about WPRO-FM spacing with WXRV-FM and WWYZ-FM?

Those are "grandfathered" short-spacings that predate the adoption of the current FM allocation system in 1964. WPRO-FM couldn't be allocated as a class B signal under today's mileage-spacing system. (This is true of many of the class B FMs in southern New England.)

The main thing that kills HOT is IF spacing with 95,5.

I which i end it up in Boston so i could receive a strong signal hip hop station to listen in my mp3 player and not using my table top hd radio with a long antenna to receive Hot 106. :'(

I was in the Providence area yesterday and Hot 106's RDS was displaying song information.

How long has this been going on? For as long as I can remember Hot 106's RDS did not diplay song info.

All the Citadel Providence stations have been doing it for almost a month now.
It was around this time that the WWKX HD TX went off too...

What happen to Hot 106 HD transmitter??? 4 or 5 Month ago it was on and my radio was in HD mode but it didn't display song tiles or the Slogan but it display Callsign WWKX. Now Hot 106 HD transmitter is off and i hope they fix it so my HD radio displays song information. And remember to turn off the 75us pre-emphasis because it make my hears to hurt. ;)
