At the link above I started a thread on the Georgia board. WWVV is no more. The callsign for the station is WWJN now. As I state in the above post, I think after Christmas JB Broadcasting is going to put Adult Hits on 104.9 as John FM. I sincerely hope I'm wrong and they don't as that would make *THREE* stations in the market, WGCO (98.3 JACK FM), WSGA (Freedom 92.3), and WWJN (104.9 John FM), with the same format. Savannah and the surrounding areas need a real radio shakeup, not the same staid product.
Yeah, I agree -- has anyone seen how WGCO's ratings were slashed after the switch to Jack? After that I'd be afraid to touch that format! It's already dying anyway..

That's something new. A station calling itself after it's owner's name.
I've heard of initials being used but never using the owner's first name.
Why not...
I've been tempted to use WART...call it Big Wart Radio. I can see the logo now...a little blob with a smiley face on it and a hair growing out from the blob but frezzy looking like a radio wave.
Would it work? What music should a station called Big Wart Radio air?
Here's your answer at the article below. The only question left to ask is, "Will 104.9 John FM's format be AAA, Rock AC or Adult Hits?" The owner claims Adult Hits but the music he's mentioned sounds more like something you'd hear on AAA or Rock AC. I guess we'll see.
Art Sutton opined... I've been tempted to use WART...call it Big Wart Radio. I can see the logo now...a little blob with a smiley face on it and a hair growing out from the blob but frezzy looking like a radio wave.
Hey, now! Where the heck do you think the calls for the BIG 1-2-8-0 in Mullins came from?
You think they just dreamed up W J A Y ???
