No one wants to work for Clear Channel no matter how sweet the deal anymore because you never know what's going to happen. Think about this:
You have a wife and 2 kids. You're out of a job. You hear about a job at the biggest employer in town. You know they pay well but you know for a fact that the job is not guaranteed from day to day. Would you still take it? Given this economy if you were in dire need of money, you might. But consider the scenario without today's economic conditions. Would you take the job? Probably not.
Now, not all factors in the scenario apply to Clear Channel (ie: biggest employer, pay well), but you catch my drift. Same goes for CBS, Cumulus, Citadel - I mean, look at what CBS just did in Charlotte. They let the ENTIRE airstaff go at K104.7. They said it was budget cuts and part was probably just that. But part of me says there's more to the story. They're discussing it on the Charlotte board.
To sum it all up - the big radio companies are running off the great jocks of the day. All they have left are Elvis Duran, Ryan Seacrest, Kidd Kraddick, etc.
