I believe it was in the '70s...

KADS 103.5 in Los Angeles

K-ADS - All Want Ads, All The Time.

I win!

It was 1967. Lasted less than a year. Gordon McLendon owned it...blew it up to become beautiful music KOST.

KADS was a bit before my time, but I remember the all-traffic station on 1650 sometime in the mid-1990s....

In no particular order...

Movin'(Rick, ya should have taken the K-Earth gig when you had the chance!)

Hollywood Hamilton on K-Earth mornings

Art Labode on Hot 92.3: I know he's a legend, but he sounds SO out of place.

Sam Rubin on KLSX: great tv reporter and anchor, but to me, not compelling for radio.

Danny Bonaduce and Jamie White on 98-7: Danny's not that bad, but Jamie made me want to send my sister over to the studios to slap her silly(I don't believe in hitting women).

Peter Tilden on KZLA: Peter's good when he's doing talk, but he was WAAAAYYYY out of his element on country. Surprised he lasted so long. Where his ratings that good in mornings?

Just my opinion.

A few years later, KRLA decided that "comedy-teams" would be big, so all the time slots were filled with 2 jocks at a time.  Problem is - they obviously didn't hire any writers, and none of these guys were Bob & Ray or Lohman & Barkley.  There was usually no chemistry between them.  One exchange I remember:

Other jock to Lee Sims: "Hey, Lee - why do they call you Lee Baby?"

Sims: "Cause it sounds better than Lee Adult."

Truly awful.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha haaaaaaa,

AAAAAAAAAAHa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

uuuugh ha ha hi hi hi hi hiiiii "Lee Adult" hi hi hi hu hu hu huuu

That was a definite knee slapper right there!!! I need a napkin

Right on about Sam Rubin...speaking of KLSX, I remember some "chick" show they tried on Sat nights a few years back. "The Frank Girls" or something. Sounded like bad college radio. It was AAAAAAAWFUL! No wonder they went to infomercials on the weekends there.

Yes-the traffic station was KKTR (Called K-Traffic). I believe it was on the air until 1998 or 1999. In
fact, one of the news or traffic reporters at KFI during that time worked at that station.
