Okay, now it is obvious you don't have a clue. The PD at KFRC is POWERLESS. Movin is not a format created by KFRC nor CBS. But by Alan Burns (http://www.burnsradio.com/movin/). There are Movin stations throughout the country. He programs it for a specific female demo. KFCR/CBS hired him and sits back and lets him work his "magic".
I think it is a flavor of the month that is going to bomb. But, it will be around for the next 12 months at least and they are not going to hire the DogHouse, which was my lone original response to your post.
If I was the PD at KFRC and had the choice, I would have never flipped to Movin'.

I'm just trying to point out that just because CBS has a morning drive open in SF, it does not mean they are a fit for the station.
And, with all the brain dead decisions made by CBS in the last year or so, maybe they will throw them on KFRC.
But, If CBS was that anxious to place the Doghouse back in SF, they could have just put them live on 1550 am months ago.
As for KIFR, yes that seems like a good fit. The only problems are that 1) If they cancel Carolla here in SF, it would mean he is pretty much toast. He currently does get the highest ratings on that station. and 2) I don't know if O&A would look kindly on flipping time slots with the Doghouse from what is done in NY. I would assume O&A would want the morning drive then be followed by the Dohouse. So, they again would not be live.
My best guess is they might end up on LIVE 105 morning drive at some point.
I see no problem with the morning drive at 106.9. The Doghouse was offered the slot that O&A are in now and turned it down, because it is a time delay slot from NY. O&A can not go live in SF because they are the morning drive in NY. They could go 3am-6am, because they are on 6am-9am in NY(but I do not see them wanting to do that). So the only fit would be the Doghouse moving into the 6am-10am slot, because they are on 9am-1pm in NY. I think Carolla is getting his best numbers in LA. If you are the PD at Free Fm 106.9 and your station is getting a .4 in the ratings, you might want to do something about it.

You started this thread by saying to put the Doghouse there. I said that was a bad idea that made zero sense.
You are now pissed that I clowned your idea and, although I'm not allowed to post Arbitron, Scarborough, nor Miller-Kaplan #'s here, if you had access to them or even know what they are, you would have to agree.
But, no, your are posting as a fan of the show, or have hurt feelings because you threw out an idea that wasn't great.
If you want to call me out and ask what a better suggestion than the Doghouse in the morning would be, my answer is a nameless, faceless, liner reader DJ would even be better than them on KFRC in the mornings.

Radioradio, and Northstar you are embarrassing yourselves, and what's most sad about it, is that you are completely oblivious to it. The only thing worse than obnoxious gloating, is obnoxious gloating when you have ABSOLUTELY NO reason to be!!!! This debate is not open to interpretation, it's not even a matter of opinion... YOU ARE WRONG... As a point of fact, you are wrong. And more importantly it shows that you know next to nothing about this business. Reading your posts reminds me of having a conversation about radio with my Barber, or my neighbor. I'm not trying to be insulting, I mean this literally. I've had this assinine conversation with my neighbor: "Well, all of my friends listen to so and so, so they must be doing really well"! Really? REALLY?! I don't besmirch my neighbor, he doesn't work in radio, but he doesn't hop on radio message boards and make a complete ass out of himself, either!
Oh and by the way, Doug, Don't fall for the "where are your good ideas" nonsense. It's a crude 13 year old's style of argument. Gee, If I lose based on my original point, I'll just change the basic structure of what I was complaining about, and then hit 'em hard as to why they "can't answer my simple question". This would work, if at anytime Doug claimed (in half as an obnoxious tone as you) to have the answers, but he never did. He just explained why, like em or hate em, the DH would not work on Movin'. Believe me, you wouldn't be doing The DH any favors. Buzz means nothing if you can't back it up with well suited programming. Using your argument, the niche programming of ALL radio stations today doesn't mean anything. I guess the DH would be a great fit for a news talker, or maybe an all news format, or wait, wait, how about all spanish, or soft hits, as long as they have buzz. I know these sound ridiculous, but you already said they'd be a great fit for a female oriented dance format! I would've rathered use that as my assinine example, but you beat me to it while being completely serious!!!!!!!!!
Look don't get your panties in a bunch, nobody was saying that JV and Elvis aren't good. I personally haven't ever heard their show, and have no opinion either way to cloud my judgement. It is just a fact, to be good in a particular format, many times you alienate yourself from other demographics. It's especially true for FM Talk. Just because you've heard a significant number of female callers on their show, means absolutely nothing when it comes to how they impact that demographic. Radio station callers have never been a good representation of their listeners. And quite frankly, you should know that! I could go on the air tomorrow, and discuss any of the hack topics that seasoned broadcasters know to steer clear of (Gun control, abortion, pot, etc.) and have a full board of callers for as many hours as I choose, but that would mean ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when it comes down to who's listening.
Now I fully expect to be completely discredited in the usual message board fashion:
1. "It's pretty easy to attack other's while being anonymous"- I never attacked anyone. Just trying to help stop the madness.
2. "You don't have very many posts, so you must be one of the others pretending to be someone else"- No, I was just inspired to write by you. Be flattered.
3. Then finally I'll be challenged the same way Doug was, with the "if you're so great, why don't you tell us, in all of your infinte wisdom, what you would do HA, HA, HA, HA"- My answer is simple, I would search to find someone who appeals to women, and has a track record of appealing to women. It may not be a satisfactory answer to you, but it is light years ahead of your idea of hiring someone who has no quantifiable appeal to women, other than your buddies who listen.

The numbers may not show, but the fact so many female listeners call in has to be worth something. The fact that you have Dog House fans who are so loyal that are spamming this board is worth something.
I don't know if there is any show, and I could be wrong, that has a loyal fanbase like Elvis and JV. I'm a fan, and I still won't let it go.
Just wish people on this board would stop attacking each other. I grew up with The Dog House and listened for close to a decade so obviously it's a sore spot if anyone bashes them.

A hand full of handles spamming the board is worth NOTHING, other than my amusement at their pathetic attempts.
The Doghouse is a fine show. However, their spammers have been ruining their credibility, as the attempts are making the Doghouse appear desparate to get back to SF.
