What impact did The Degrassi Franqise fans had over the years

I like to ask a question for fellow Degrassi fans. What impact did the Degrassi franqise fans had over the years in both Canada and the USA?

Any series from The Kids of Degrassi Street (CBC 1979-1986?), Degrassi Junior High/Degrassi High (CBC 1987-1991), and Degrassi: The Next Generation now known simply as Degrassi after Miriam McDonald left the series (CTV 2001-10, MuchMusic 2010-present). Plus movies like the 1992 School's Out in which Stefan Brogren (Snake, who's still on the current incarnation today) uttered the F-bomb which is forbidden by US TV. At the time DJH/DH aired on PBS in the USA.

I've started to watch Degrassi back in 2005 in the USA on The N (now TeenNick) when they also used to show reruns of DJH/DH. Then I got started watching D:TNG with Miriam McDonald (who was Emma Nelson) in it because she's cute and attractive. I know some controversial episodes that didn't air in the USA until years later was Accidents Will Happen (where one of the Degrassi chacters did the same thing like the late Bea Arthur's Maude did in the 1970s), and ironic it was PG in Canada, unfortunately rated TV-14 in the USA (despite the show mostly being TV-PG until post-Miriam seasons when Degrassi went darkier and edgier). Lot's of folks got their start in the curent incarnation, Shenae Grimes (90210), Nina Dobrev (The Vampire Diaries), Landon Liboiron (now cancelled Terra Nova), and of course Drake the Rapper.

I've also got some contacts with some ex-D:TNG stars online. Writing a letter to Miriam McDonald (ex-Emma Nelson) and others at now defunct degrassi.tv Only Miriam replied with an automatic response. Then Mike Lobel (ex-Jay Hogart) replied to my letter at his MySpace (when it was popular) page years back. Ryan Cooley (ex-JT Yorke) replied to one of my tweets, same story for Evan Williams (ex-Kelly Ashoona), Executive Producer Stephen Stohn replied to a couple of my tweets also. And Melissa DiMarco (ex-Principal Hatzilakos) is following me on Twitter, so honored. She replied to some of my tweets. Plus, Cassie Steele (ex-Manny Santos) who's now on The LA Complex (which will be on the USA next month on the CW) replied to my questions on her video chat at ustream.tv a month ago, and her sister Alex Steele (ex-Angelia, now Tori) replied to one of my questions. Feels like being a friend of the show.
