Play That Funky Music.... Can't wait to hear that again??? Makes me wanna shut the garage door and rev the engine...
Careful, could cause the onset of nausea.

maybe so, but it still packs the dance floor. especially when mixxed with brick house.

I going to throw up now, since you mentioned Brick House by the Commadores, I want to do what Brian on Family Guy did with all the 45's of Surfin Bird to that song!!!!

Speaking of Brick House it was played at least 10 times this week in the Austin radio dial.

Always count 2 times on Saturday.

I am going to city hall and request a city ordinance to ban Brick House from the airwaves!!!!
Just kidding, but tempted!!!

10 times in a week is overkill, but it's still one of the best songs from '77.

"Brick House" anytime over "Brown Eyed Girl" ;D

If I could only have 3 wishes from the Radio Genie it would be from any Classic Hits or Gold Based AC station,

Remove Brick House
Remove Brown Eyed Girl
Remove Anything by the Eagles including Take It Easy, with the exception for Peaceful Easy Feeling.

Actually "I Can't Tell You Why" (1980) is one of my favorites and is rarely, if ever played....

Which will prove to the radio geniuses that everyone's favorites are never aired afterall......

"I Can't Tell You Why" is one of the only Eagles cuts I can stomach. Blue-eyed soul with Timothy B. Schmidt on lead vocals.

Singlehandedly? And how did Top 40 on FM survive the Gibbs?

Some Top 40 FM's survived disco by becoming Adult Contemporary stations or going "Rock 40" by dumping the softer hits and playing just the rock hits in 1980-2. WLS in Chicago during this time was a good example of a Rock 40 format.

Many flipped to CHR when Mike Joseph's "Hot Hits' format became popular in 1983.
