What is the most obnoxious commercial on radio?

For my thought it has to be the creep who I hear only on WBZ Radio whose commercial consists of nothing more than encouraging couples to get divorced....and of course, use this creep as their lawyer.

His latest creepy commercial says something to the effect that ' the kids will be going back to school in a few weeks....there is still time to get a divorce before school starts'. Yeah, and break up the family unit just in time to really screw up the kids psyche.

His other commercials have a "holiday theme" like make it your new years resolution to get a divorce.

I thought it was against the canons of legal ethics for a lawyer to encourage and foster litigation.

Know his name but I am not going to give this legal slime ball any more coverage.

He should be brought before the state Bar on ethics violation.

And WBZ Radio should be called up on this for accepting ' blood money ' .

co-signed. I can't hit the button quickly enough when that one comes on and it seems to cycle through ever few months. So much that if I ever decide to donate a car, they sure as hell aren't getting mine.

also, it's on TV too-the "SO GOOD, SO GOOD" car commercial.

All version of this one stink...

I can mentally tune out the accoustic one, but the rock version is the pits.

The Nina's Lighting ones voiced by the guy who can barely speak English are really awful. I presume he's the owner?

Yes, because middle class suburban kids really need help going to summer camp.

What happened to the good old spackle or paste commercial?

This one, hands down.

And there's a commercial on WBZ for another charity, trying to get us to donate cars, where they say they have "no annoying jingles."

Oh I hate that amoral lawyer bastard

Not sure if these ads run on the over-the-air chain, but on the online feeds, this guy runs similar commercials, but more geared toward child custody disputes. They have a very mysongynistic tone to them, accusing "women" of using "dirty tricks" against fathers in the court. Very slimy sounding, but I have to wonder, what happens if this guy appears before a female judge in court?

yes, the Kars 4 Kids ad makes me want to turn into a serial killer myself. Also agree on the divorce lawyer jerk ("that's 1-800-DIVORCE!!!")..Another one that infuriates me is Mr. Rocky 'Name A Star After You or Someone You Love' Mosele and his bogus International Star Registry. I think they charge like $39.95 for it or something. Gawd, what a snake oil salesman. 'The new star name will be published in book form for registration in the US Copyright Office'....big whoop, that doesn't mean jack. The star name is not recognized by any astronomical entity whatsoever....totally ridiculous ad

It's like the Who's Who Among American High School Students gimmick: Fork over the money and your kid gets his/her name and high school accomplishments in a copyrighted book.

Actually, these aren't technically scams. The ads promise exactly what is offered: publication of desired verbiage in a copyrighted book, period. No promise is made that the book will be read -- or even distributed -- or that the words the customer wants printed will have any effect beyond the printed page.

My favorite "weasel-language" ads, though, are the print ads that often run in USA Today from the "World Reserve Monetary Exchange," which promise the respondent "rare" uncut sheets of $1 or $2 bills. "You can't get these at your bank," says the "president" of the Exchange, one Jefferson Marshall, who goes on to say that you "might expect" to see them in a museum or "hanging in the Oval Office"! All of which is true: Banks don't have uncut sheets in stock and, as someone outside the system, you very well might expect to see the sheets anywhere. Whether the President really does paper the Oval Office with them is another matter. I love advertising...
