What national domestic SW services do you receive (other than US religious)?

I've got a soft spot for picking up domestic SW services of national broadcasters. For me, 'overseas' services are tailored for a different audience, while domestic SW services are an extension of the particular country's MW/FM services, so picking them up, is rather like DXing to me. :)

We'll see where this takes us, as there's a number of stations operating out of the Middle East, Asia, South/Central America, etc. International broadcasting may be dwindled, but there's still some interesting stuff out there.

I'll start with some domestic Chinese services, as sampled between 2200 - 2330 UTC.

7355 - CNR5 - Beijing (Experience tells me that this service plays a fair amount of Hong Kong and Taiwanese pop, as some CNR5 programming is carried by a local Ottawa radio station).
9455 - CNR1 - Lingshi
9470 - CNR1 - Beijing (as above, but with a better signal)
9710 - CNR1 - Shijiazhuang
9755 - CNR2 - Baoji-Sifangshan
9775 - CNR2 - Beijing (as above, better signal)
9820 - CNR2 - Xianyang (pretty strong, but distorted)
9830 - CNR2 - Beijing (very faint, but there)
9845 - CNR1 - Beijing (faint)

And I could go on...but I've got work to do! I use short-wave.info as my source (http://www.short-wave.info/index.php), it's generally quite accurate and very handy for tracking down SW signals.

I'll start with your neighbor, CFRX on 6070. Assuming they're still on. And then there's R. Rebelde from Cuba on 5025.

Yup, CFRX is still on. And oh yes...all those Cubans!

Further afield, I'm picking up RTM Sarawak FM, from Malaysia right now, on 9835. You can try matching with the on-line stream here ~> http://www.rtmsarawak.gov.my/srwkfm.html But, just a little heads up, the stream appears to about a minute behind the SW signal. :p

Happy hunting!

I get CKZU 6160 from Vancouver (repeating CBU 690). Also sometimes get CFVP-AB on 6030 and CFRX-ON on 6070.
Radio Nacional da Amazonia on 11780 blasts in here. The CNR stuff sometimes comes in the morning hours. There used to be CNR on 5030, and around 5-6AM local time it would come in like a local.

Using a Global Tuners receiver in Connecticut, I can get an EASY signal on Radio Clube do Para on 4885 from Belem, Brazil. Also another Brazilian on 4915.

P.S: Grabbing CNR-11 on 9480 from a Ridgecrest, CA Global Tuners receiver in Tibetan. Good signal.

Here in Buenos Aires, China National Radio and China Business Radio are all over the place, often jamming other stations. Their Uygur service on 9890 even jams Radio Nederland via WHRI on 9895.
Aside of those, I get several domestic Brazilian stations: Transmundial, Aparecida, Bandeirantes, Deus é Amor, Inconfidencia, Brasil Central, Nacional da Amazônia, 9 de Julio, Guaiba...
Also nice to hear Oman FM, when I can nail its erratic frequency. Normally they relay their breakfast show, "Good Morning, Oman" at 0300UT, comprising of headlines, and pop music. Listening to Pitbull and David Guetta on shortwave isn't something common, I guess! :D

Located in Western WA.

Over the last couple of years, there's been quite a few, but on a regular basis I receive most of the CNR-1 Chinese outlets on 41 meters, as well as a couple of SW relays of domestic Malaysian FM stations (Traxx FM and Sarawak FM).

Mauretania sometimes makes its way over the Atlantic and N. Am. on 41 meters on early evenings. I've heard two or three lower power domestic Brazilians with very grainy reception in the 60 meter band (can just make out the music and just ID the language), and Radio Nacional Da Amazonia usually makes it in regularly in the 31 meter band.

There's also Radio Rebelde, 5025 khz. If it's not coming in, the band's dead.....

And of course CKZU, CBU-690's SW relay on 6160 khz, is usually a regular here during night time. I once heard CKZN (Newfoundland's SW CBC outlet) competing with it on the same frequency -- barefoot on a Realistic DX-350A, during really good 49 meter conditions last Spring.

Their 25 and 49 meter signals come into Phoenix almost like locals in the early evening. But I don't see any listings for them on 31 meters, including on their website.

Hey, is the 'Voice of Tigray Revolution' considered an Ethiopian domestic? :) Currently, being heard quite well on 5950, with a very distinctive music program.

It's probably the 25 meter one then. I was going by memory.

CKZU 6160 is listenable in Boise all day. Glad they keep that peanut whistle running.
Used to hear a lot of S. American domestics in the "Tropical" band.

Most of those have moved to FM from what I understand. There are still a small handful of Central and South American stations, but over 90% of those that were on in 1970 have left the air. Most of the activity in those bands is in Africa, Asia, Cuba, and American religious broadcasters (and since when are 60 & 90 meters American broadcast bands, and could WGN or KFI set up shop there now?).

Considering that it's running at 50 kW, from Kanggye DPRK, I've been surprised at how well North Korea's domestic service has been coming through on 9665 kHz, this morning. Very distinctive (and patriotic!) music, makes it a stand out.

Some Brasilians, which are currently (8:30 PM EST) audible for me.

5955 - Rádio Gazeta, São Paulo - 10 kW
5970 - Rádio Itatiaia, Belo Horizonte - 10 kW
6080 - Rádio Marumby, Curitiba - 10 kW (stream ~> http://radioevangelismo.com/radionline730.htm)
6135 - Rádio Aparecida, Aparecida - 25 kW
6180 - Rádio Nacional da Amazônia, Brasilia -250 kW (the Brasilian powerhouse!)
9565 - Rádio Tupi/Super Deus e Amor, Curitiba -20 kW (underneath a strong CRI on 9570)
9645 - Rádio Bandeirantes, São Paulo - 7.5 kW (Good signal)
9840 - Rádio 9 de Julho, São Paulo - 10 kW
11785 - Rádio Tupi/Super Deus e Amor, Curitiba - 10 kW (s/a 9565, better signal)
11780 - Rádio Nacional da Amazônia, Brasilia -250 kW ( s/a 6180, both signals good)
11925 - Rádio Bandeirantes, São Paulo - 10 kW (not as strong as 9645)
15190 - Rádio Inconfidência, Belo Horizonte - 5kW (quite a good signal, carries Inconfidência's MW 880 kHz programming ~> http://www.inconfidencia.com.br/modules/programacao/players/pop_am.php)

There's others to explore, but with CRI all over the SW bands, there's some challenges!

Ah, one of the biggest domestic powerhouses I can pick up. When I listen to 11780 in late afternoon/early evening, this station BOOMS in.

I think I logged them a few times during last Fall. Music with a choir and jazzy sounding band with piano and organ, guitars, and a bass guitarist who's actually pretty good -- the James Jamerson of North Korea!

I'm trying for some Indian domestics, but not much luck at this moment. Greece is throwing over a huge signal on 9420, pretty much burying AIR's National Channel (in Hindi) on 9425. While over on 9470 kHz, CNR 1 100 kW signal continues to put the boots to AIR National Channel's 250 kW transmitter. Will have to check again, after 2300 UTC.

Where is your QTH? State is fine.

7345 RTV Tunisia
7495 Radio Algeria (Holy Qur'an channel)
9555 BSKSA (Riydah, Saudi Arabia) - General Service Program 1
9579 Radio Mediterranee Intl. (Nador, Morroco)
9745 Radio Bahrain
9870 s/a 9555
11540 Radio Cairo 'Sout Al-Arabia'
11820 BSKSA - Holy Qur'an service
11915 s/a 11820
17550 Radio Kuwait (appears to be General Service - based on streaming)
