What national domestic SW services do you receive (other than US religious)?

Radio Bahrain on 9745 kHz is another one of those surprises. Is it really only pumping out 10 kW?

I've got a weak, but steady signal here (inspite of being surrounded by my plethora of noise generators, including my newly acquired Cintiq and a whack of interference caused by lightening, south of the Great Lakes). Though Radio Bahrain has no streams, I've been able to match with one of the Global Tuner nodes (Sweden - http://www.globaltuners.com/receiver/vk4fsgw.php?receiver=10).

I'm running about 150 feet of 22 AWG speaker wire, from the back of my DX-440, to make the catch. At times (other than the lightening) I'm getting a better signal than the Swedish node.

Happy hunting!

Are you getting Radio Clube do Para tonight on 4885? Usually comes in well on the East Coast. I've heard them a couple of times here, but usually grainy and weak. 4915 and 4985 are also good to try, as is 4865.

Yes, Radio Clube do Para is coming in quite well. I'm getting something weak on 4915, but there are several possibilities as to who it is (2 Brasilians and a Peruvian there, though the signal is currently too weak to determine whether I'm hearing Spanish or Portuguese). 4985 and 4885 have micro-wave clattering about on their frequencies.

I'm trying for some Indian domestics, but not much luck at this moment. Greece is throwing over a huge signal on 9420, pretty much burying AIR's National Channel (in Hindi) on 9425. While over on 9470 kHz, CNR 1 100 kW signal continues to put the boots to AIR National Channel's 250 kW transmitter. Will have to check again, after 2300 UTC.

A few years ago (2002-2003) I used to log Indian stations that were underneath the Chinese ones. But the Chinese stations seem stronger now than they were back in 2003.

The Indian domestics do still roll in, although you're correct regarding the Chinese having increased their presence.

Being a good practicing Dutch Reform fellow, I'm currently rockin' to RSG's (the Afrikaans service - Radio Sonder Grense) early Sunday morning organ program, on 3320 kHz. :D

I usually drop in on 4055 KHZ to listen for Radio Verdad, Guatamala, with a mighty 700 watts.

Tonight, it is providing a weak to moderate, and listenable, signal.

I just recently heard WBCQ on 5110 out of Maine in VA.

Years ago, I used to be able to catch (very faintly) WBCQ on the frequency near 7400 KHZ (I forget the exact frequency).

But in recent years at my location in southeastern New England.....NOTHING!

Interesting to hear German, with a Brasilian Portuguese accent, on Radio Tupi right now @ 11765 kHz.

I heard that station earlier this month. Brazilian announcers and pop music. Very grainy reception of it here.

When it comes to accents, the Asian accented Spanish is interesting. They often cut the vowels short, and are heavy on the consonants. It's like Spanish with Japanese or Korean consonant sounds.
