What show is replacing Oprah at your station when she finishes on May 25th?

Here's a question:

Which shows will be replacing Oprah at your market after her final show on May 25th? Will they keep playing her reruns until the final air date of Sept. 2nd? Are they going to drop her the next day (like her flagship, WLS in Chicago with a live newsmagazine show)? What ya got?

Here in Wichita, Kansas,
KWCH (Channel 12 - CBS) will drop Oprah on Sept. 2nd. Will replace her with Ellen (currently on KAKE, Channel 10 - ABC) on Tuesday, Sept. 6th (due to Monday's preemption of The U.S. Open).....

I don't know for sure here in the Quad Cities. KWQC has aired Oprah at around this time since I was in school...

WTAE-TV Channel 4 (ABC) in Pittsburgh is picking up Dr. Oz, which will move in the fall from WPXI-TV (NBC) where it airs in various slots on Channel 11 and its Pittsburgh Cable News Channel. Oprah now competes with the first hour of KDKA-TV (CBS) Channel 2's evening news and back-to-back "Judge Judy" episodes on WPXI.

Here in Bangor, Maine, WABI-5 (CBS) will carry Oprah through September. When her highness departs, Ellen will move from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Dr. Oz will take Ellen's time slot. Dr. Oz comes to WABI from WLBZ-2 (NBC).

On another note, "Big Bang Theory" will take over the 7 p.m. slot bumping "Two and a Half Men" to the coveted 2 a.m. slot.

In my area, WPVI, Ch. 6, is debuting a new 4 pm Action News the very next day(Thursday, May 26th). It will be anchored by Brian Taff, Shirleen Allicot, and Alicia Vitarelli, with Adam Joseph doing weather.

In Chicago, WLS-TV will have a new local talk show called Windy City Live at 9am. It'll be hosted by Valerie Warner & Ryan Chiaverini. It'll be the first local talk show on WLS-TV since Oprah hosted AM Chicago for 2 years prior to her nationally syndicated show. Windy City Live will debut May 26th (according to the Windy City Live facebook page).

No word on what KTVA (Anchorage) and KTVF (Fairbanks) are going to do, but my hunch is that KTVF may bump Dr. Oz and Ellen from 4:00 and 5:00 respectively to 3:00 and 4:00 with their second attempt at news at 5:00.

But then again, KXD tried putting on a 5:00 newscast several years ago; it didn't work.

As far as I know, WEWS/5 here will keep riding the Oprah Reruns Train until September, when Dr. Oz fills the time slot.

We've heard that at least to start with, WEWS will "double run" Dr. Oz at 10 and 4.

What's replacing Ellen on KAKE? Is it Anderson?

In New York, WABC-TV (Ch.7) will debut "Eyewitness News at 4" the very next day after Oprah wraps it.

In Seattle, KING 5 looks like it will air the reruns until September, then ??? ??? ???

Yep. Anderson Cooper will premiere his talk show on Sept. 12th, replacing Ellen on KAKE in Wichita. Also, if you did not know, Dr. Drew will be on the CW on Tyra's old time slot (3 pm Nationwide) that same day.

So this is what I guess will be KTVF's post-Oprah schedule this fall:

3:00 - Dr. Oz
4:00 - Ellen
5:00 - Anderson Cooper (that is, if they pick it up)

In Houston, KHOU 11`(CBS) plans to show KHOU 11 News First@4, and that will be followed at 4:30 with Jeopardy. Also, There might be some speculation that The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson will start on time-Right after Letterman at 11:37 PM. And that will be great news for people who just can't stay up late to watch Jeopardy, or perhaps just DVR it.

Raycom-owned ABC station in Biloxi, MS, WLOX is showing reruns of Oprah until fall then they will premiere a Raycom produced show called "America Now" with Bill Rancic. The show is already shown weekly on Raycom owned stations.

Unfortunately, WLOX is a station that only shows Wheel of Fortune and not Jeopardy, which leaves a hole for satellite dish subscribers in South Mississippi. Here's why, Biloxi is an incomplete market, they don't have a CBS, NBC, or CW affiliate. Directv and Dish Network beams in ABC, FOX, and PBS from Biloxi and CBS, NBC, and CW from New Orleans. Wheel and Jeopardy is shown on the Fox affiliate in New Orleans WVUE and the Fox affiliate in Mobile WALA for those like me who live closer to Mobile. Of course, Directv and Dish will not grant permits for viewers to get another Fox affiliate or WABC since Biloxi already has a Fox and ABC affiliate. Cable subscribers though can get WALA or WVUE depending on whether you live East or West of Biloxi. Sorry for the rant, but it sucks.

That's why cable has been the only way to get those aforementioned New Orleans channels plus WVUE, WYES, and WKRG (Mobile, especially for The Early Show), and always will be!
