What show were you watching when it was interrupted for a major news story?

I was watching some game show in 1986 when John Palmer, the news anchor on Today broke in with the bulletin that the Challenger space shuttle had exploded. This was on NBC. I wonder, did anyone of you have the experience of watching a show and it was preempted by something major occurring?

There was a thread on this several years ago...somebody can probably track down the link to it.

I was watching the local morning news show on Fox 10 (Phoenix) when the WTC was hit on 9/11/2001.

If you could post that link id be interested in taking a look at the thread frank or david are you familiar with this thread at all where it might be located on here?

Search on any of the keywords such as "WTC" or "World Trade Center" in the search up in the right. Or use the advanced search which allows date ranges (right below the magnifying glass icon).

Did they go right to the national fox feed?

I'm pretty sure they did, although I didn't see it. I had to leave for work almost immediately after the 2nd plane hit, and IIRC they were still local at the time.
