What station out there do you think has the best radio personalities today?

I know that signs are starting to appear that makes it look like the (good) radio personality is an endangered breed. However, there still is talent out there, and I'm interested in who you all like. I am in Lancaster County, so I can only attest to what I can get here of course.

Over the past few years, I am pretty sure that I would have to go with WGTY 107.7, and probably the PEAK 98.5

These folks are a good mix, and are pretty solid in my eyes. I especially like Bill O'Brien on the PEAK at night.

Good for you Bill! Voice tracked and still well liked. If radio people think a voice tracked show is the best, my job might be over.

I meant Bill O'Brien in the evening
7pm - midnight

I'm pretty sure he's not tracked then
 
Nipsey may not have the biggest voice in the world but he's certainly a big reason why that show is successful. Take him out of the show and it's not the same.

All the shows and talents mentioned have performed well in their respective markets. And that ultimately is what makes them the best in Central P-A.
 
Honestly, it doesn't matter as much as you think as to whether a show is live or voicetracked. You can do a live show badly and you can make a voicetracked show sound great. It all depends on how much you prep and work at it. Old-timers hate to admit that voicetracking can be good. There are only two things you can't do voicetracked that you can do live. 1) Comment on the moment....weather, traffiic, breaking news, etc. and 2) do instant response contests and live phone calls. I've heard voicetracked shows with pre-recorded calls and you can't tell the difference ! The one advantage that voicetracking has it that you can focus all the energy on the talk-sets at one time, rather that sitting in a studio for five hours becoming bored and distracted, while your energy slips away. Besides, all those things a jock used to do...choose music, load cart machines, clear the wire, etc no longer exist. I will, however, give you that if you put a talent on live who is prepped and focused on now it will be better than a tracked show. Sadly, most jocks can't or won't put in the effort to be truly great live, so it is probably better at nights and on weekends to find a great voicetracked talent. Plus, when you throw a bad break "into the bleachers", there are always take two and three. There are no do-overs in live radio, which can be good and also bad. Your comments?
 
I listen to a somewhat narrow market, as far as hosts go, but Liz and Brian FM 97 would get my vote out of all mentioned. I personally don't care for confrontational duo/trio where they take jabs at each other, make off-handed comments, etc., & I hear non of that on their show.

For a couple of "young" hosts, they really have it together. I think the recent shows with Liz broadcasting from home was a neat touch.

Very much this. You want cookie cutter liner jocks with straight man radio across the board and "big announcer voice guy", sure you might take him out of the equation. But Nipsey Earl and Jen are hands down the most entertaining show in our area. You have a good mix of personalities in one room and no shortage neurosis in that studio making for some damn fine comedy at times. Their delivery of everything from topical conversation to news items is top notch. I guess it's a matter of "to each his own" really but I think pound for pound they crush anything else out there.

I'm also very entertained by Murf and Casey at IOV. Their chemistry together is off the charts and its a great program every day.

Pretty partial to Puff of The Morning Madhouse on Hot 92 as well.

"Davey Crockett" at THE PEAK still has some of the best pipes in the area. Bill O'Brien does well. David Washington at COOL JAZZ 92.7 also good.
