What was the first HD-x to show up in the Ratings?

Yes, it is a joke, just like HD is a joke. Even if you believe the sales figures cited by iBiquity (which industry analysts, far wiser than I, don't believe for a minute), there just aren't enough HD radios out there in any one market to meet Arbitron's minimum reporting standards, even if all of the HD radios in a given market were tuned to one HD secondary.

No, it's not a joke. If you're going to make broad, sweeping statements and expect them to be taken seriously, you'd better have a verifiable source to back them up with.

It's just that simple.

"Hey Darth, I think you've mistakenly slammed badjef for what I said."

No, I didn't. I knew you (local oscillator) said that.

That was a general "you" in that post, not specific "you".

Nick, you're right. I completely forgot about WWMX-HD2, which was able to crack the ratings via streaming, rather than analog translator. The strong identity and history of the old 'HFS, the Alt Rock format, and the demo made it possible; and the 97.5 250w/600' analog translator enhanced the effort. Nonetheless, the HD2 had little to do with it, other than to justify the translator.

So, from what I'm understanding here, HD-2s have made the ratings, but via conduits other than actual HD signals.

Can anyone provide evidence to the contrary?

The people of Radio-Info watch every ratings book. If an HD2 makes the ratings on its own, it's guaranteed to be big news.
