What was your favorite urban station in 90's and Early 2000's and why?

My Favorite was KKBT 92.3 The Beat/100.3 The Beat & Power 106 because they played the most Hip Hop & R&B in L.A.

its kinda more late 2000 but....KRBV 100.3 V100. The R&B Station/The Best Variety in R&B - It focused on a lot of the rare and lost songs you wouldn't hear on KJLH and HOT since they played the "hits" of R&B and Old School.

for example KJLH and HOT would play The Emotions - Best of my Love while V100 would play I Dont Wanna Lose Your Love.

V100 may you RIP. thanks for the good times on air during 07 and 08.

also the Playlist on KHHT when it was under the Hot 92 Jams Moniker had a good variety along with Diana Steele and the Morning Jamz Session. I was happy when she moved to V with Cliff Winston in the Mornings.

Urban Radio in L.A. just took a down fall the late 2000's after KKBT went defuct in 2007. Reply if you know where I'm coming from.

I visited LA/OC area in July of 1999. From what I heard, KPWR and 92.3 The Beat were the best stations around. They were doing live mixes, playing all sorts of hip hop and R&B popular at the time along with some classic west coast tracks. I remember hearing a track on a mix show on 92.3 the Beat that blew my mind. It was Royce Da 5'9" featuring Eminem called "Nuthin' To Do". It was an underground track from then just blowing up Eminem along with a rapper I had never heard of before, Royce Da 5'9". They had their pulse on the hip hop at the time. Heard all other sorts of great tracks that weekend on 92.3 and 105.9 as well. Flash forward to 10 years later, I finally returned to SoCal in May of 2009. Power 106 was a completely different station. They were now playing pop and other stuff they wouldn't think of touching 10 years prior. 92.3/100.3 is now a rock station. I guess things change..

With that said, Power 106 and 92.3 the Beat.
