Why does Jamn 94.5 does not play anything form Justin Timberlake,Nelly Furtado and Gwen Stefani ? Right now Justin Timberlake is gettin lots of plays on Urban ( Black target radio stations ) stations...Chr/R ( Hip Hop stations ) and Chr/Pop ( Mainstream ) stations, but Jamn 94.5 does not play his music . Nelly Furtado ( with rap producer Timberland ) had a big hit on the Urban , Chr/R and Chr/Pop charts.... But Jamn 94.5 didnt play that song . Gwen Stefani had a big hit ( Holla Back Girl ) on The Urban , Chr/R and Chr/Pop charts... but Jamn 94.5 didnt play that song . Paul Wall first few singles didnt get on Jamn 94.5 playlist . The Late WBOT/WILD-FM Played Justin Timberlake ( Cry me a River ) and Gwen Stefani ( Holla Back Girl ) . Slim Shady is the only White artist that has no problem gettin on Jamn playlist . I thought Jamn 94.5 main target, is Young white's ,who love Hip Hop and R&B music...What ? Boston White Hip hop fans has no love for the Larry Bird's of Hip Hop and R&B music artist ? Well , since 94.5 is on top of the Boston Ratings ( not broke , dont fix ) this may not change , I just put this out there for something to think about .

What is there to think about? They have a sister station that plays all those mentioned artists...and the two seem to co-exist nicely, don't you think? Are you trying to create a racial issue out of their playlist?? Rapking, these stations are programmed to create optimum sales and ratings opportunites, not by skin color.

Hip Hop Urban Power 105 NYC has no problem playing these artist . ( Power 105 and Z 100 NYC has the same owners aka Jamn owners also )

CHR/R WWKX Providence ( Hot 106 ) has no problem playing these artists ( same Owner of chr/Pop 92Pro-Fm and Fun 107 ) . Urban Power 104 Hartford ( same Owner of CHR/Pop 95.7 Kiss Hartford Ct ) has no problem playing these artist . Now is this a Boston thang... that these artist cant be played on a Hip hop and R&B station ?

Once again, KISS and JAM'N are programmed to co-exist with each other. Yes, it's a Boston THING (not thang), a Clear Channel Boston THING. They feel that they want to keep the stations seperate enough so that they can gain the highest ratings they can and subsequently the most revenue they can for each of the stations (and if you look at their ratings and listen to their spot load, I would say they are doing that).

The NYC and Hartford situations are different since those Rhythmic station's are fighting against other Rhythmic and Urban stations in their respective markets.

Once again, what's YOUR mission by bringing up black vs. white? Can't you accept the fact that JAM'N isn't the station YOU want it to be and just NOT listen to it WITHOUT making a racial issue out of their playlist??

So its ok for a Black music artist who does well on Chr/Pop and Chr/R and Urban Charts ( AKA Beyonce ) can get played on both Jamn and Kiss playlist...But a White music artist( AKA Justin Timberlake ) cant be played on both Jamn and kiss playlist, because these two stations may sound the same ? I have no problem with Kiss Playlist...But Jamn playlist is to small . All Hip Hop and R&B fans ( Black & white fans that I know ) love the new Justin Timberlake CD...But its a shame that Boston only Hip Hop and R&B station does not play his music ( also Jamn does not play all the other white artist I mention on this tread ) .Maybe its a Boston Thang ( thing ) .

::)

Maybe it's time for somebody to do an upgrade on the old 3 Dog Night tune: "Black & White?"

The inscription on the CD level could read:

With sincerest dedication to rapking? ::)

You are right...it's a racial thing. JAM'N is not playing white artists because the white man is evil. They are adding Hootie and the Blowfish due to the color of Darius Rucker's skin. From now on, any old school feautre will include Jimmi Hendrix, too.

I also read that Cadillac Jack reads this board and does everything that you - Rapking - hates. He has just gotten lucky that he programs the two highest rated (12+) music station in the market according to the last trend. Even though he is white, he goes tanning a lot to add a little color.

Rapking, you're over thinking the issue. Artists like Nelly Furtado (even if Timberland produces q record) and Gwen Stefani (even if Farell produced a record) are pop artists, period. Nelly is more of a Hot Ac artist at this point. Power 105 in NY does not play these artists, they may have given a toekn add, KTU did a bit. Then again Power 105 and Z100 share amost no audience in common whereas Kiss and Jamn do. So they are trying to do what they can to try to differentaite between the two stations, it's not a race issu, it's actually just a station that is programmed more strictly than you would like. You havent used the best examples to comapre, Hot 106 in Providence is a mess, they also have to compete with Jamn on some level so they're a bad example because they're not exactly doing "hip hop" right. Their playlist is all over the place, their jocks are weak, it's not a great station. As for Justin Jamn did play "cry me a river" (beacuse it was an unavoidable smash) and that first single too (I dont remember the name but the first one released) from "Justified"). He's got an image problem though, he's still the Nsync guy to most no matter how short he cuts his hair, and no matter how many lame tracks Timberland (the worst producer in hip hop) comes up with for him.

Ok I get your point . Although I think Timberland is better than J.D. ( Ok Im in love with Janet Jackson and its to bad that J.D. is killing her music career ).

I used to really dislike JD till I started hearing Timberland's work mostly the Missy Elliot crap. I have to say he turned it out for Jay Z, and is Farell not the most over rated guy in muisc history?. Point being I understand your quetion but I think it really comes down to different markets. You look at Power 105, Hot 97 in NY and they probably are not sharing much cume with Z100. Kiss and Jamn though are and do, so Im sure they want top make the differences between the two stations pretty distict but the right way, not like when Ivey programmed Kiss nd they didnt play ANY rap/hip hop/r & B and subsequently played no hits. they weren't even hammering the boy bands as they could have because they wanted an older core, and they just sounded awful a years. Yet they still had huge numbers so opinions mean nothing when they're still a success.

Thank you TowerBuzz...You really making me understand what going on at Clear Channel Boston . Farell need to stop trying to sing .

LMAO

Whenever that man tries to sing it's always the same falsetto stuff like "beautiful".What an ego on Farell too. He breaks up N.E.R.D, but they were a three piece band and the other guy was the one guy who was not part of the neptunes, so he got the boot what an ass!.LOl. Dude no joke I do appreciate your passion for rap.

Props to ya!
