What Will BBN, Family Radio and/or Rejoice From Pensacola Do...

When their audience passes on?  What do you think they'll do?  My thoughts are below.

Me thinks they'll change to keep their presentation on the air.  Although I don't see them going hardcore CCM, I could see them adding some of the lighter classic CCM songs to their rotation in the near future.

As of late, I've also noticed that The Rejoice in the Lord TV program has been performing more of the classic CCM and SG songs during their Worship service.

Even my own mother is beginning to love some of the CCM songs I have. Since I began to pursue an Internet radio station, a few months ago, she's learning to appreciate the songs I want to play. This includes the classic songs, I've been getting, over the past few months.

Speaking of the station, hope to have something going within the next year. Still Praying for God to work everything out and to soon allow me to get it going.

There will probably always be a subset of very conservative people who won't go for CCM. You still see people who dress the old fashioned way, don't wear makeup, etc

At my home church in Ohio, they have both contemporary and traditional services and there are lots of young people who attend the traditional.

Yep, there will probably always be a niche market for listener-supported Christian elevator music and preaching programs.
When today's group of BBN listeners ages out, the younger ones will grow into their spot.
Some of the ones who will age into it probably even listen to CCM now, but by then, they will like softer music and talk. At least that's how all the 60s and ups I know have gone about choosing their musics as they age on. Like snacks, they always go for the softer stuff. :)

If you're Lutheran, it gets even more complicated. There are "traditional" services that use the historic liturgy that the church has used for centuries, with music accompanied by an organ. There are "contemporary" services with almost no liturgical content and a great deal of "praise" music. But then there's the "blended" service, where the traditional liturgy is accompanied by more modern sounding instruments playing more modern sounding tunes. A great example of this is Marty Haugen's "Now the Feast" liturgy, which is best described as a full-on high mass with modern music.
