What will happen to radio disney sirius xm channel 79 after its departure in January?

Well I'm sure all know by now radio Disney is ending late January 2020. In addition to the the radio Disney app which has a monthly reach of about 8 million people per month and some hd radio stations that radio Disney is still syndicated on? I think this may be the case but feel free to chime in on this if you are aware of any specific hd stations radio Disney may still be broadcasting on, its Sirius xm channel I'm assuming is going to be turned into a preview channel in late January in late January 2021. This is a great channel location for Sirius xm and I'm wondering what this may become any thoughts?

It’s gone already. If Nick Radio was still around by iheartradio they could put it there. I do have to say, when my children were younger, this was on along with Kids Place Live. Now with them in the car, it’s Sirius Hits One or The Pulse.

There's a guy around the Utah/Idaho area who has been trying to start a channel for tow-truck drivers.
Maybe the satrad folks will give it to him 😁 .

Right it went off the air this morning or late last night does anyone happen to have audio of the channel going from radio disney to the automated message on the sirius xm channel?

So the channel simply was removed it is no longer there im assuming to save bandwidth space. Not a fan of this decision on sirius end.

What makes you think they won't just put some other niche channel in it's place?
Since the acquisition of Pandora, SXM's emphasis has been on the non-"radio" end of its service -- streaming, podcasts, smart devices, the app, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the satellite lineup thins out even more and becomes the "basic cable" version of SXM, with new channels being placed in the 700s and 800s.

Just the opposite. If they could reduce the bandwidth and cram even more channels into the satellite, trust me, they would.

They likely would. People will still listen (and PAY), just because it "isn't broadcast". Listeners don't really care about the quality.

They can care, and not find something troubling. To an average person driving to work, does it sound good? That's all it takes. That they're not audiophiles doesn't mean they don't care, it means they're not investing that much, um, bandwidth into it.
