What year will all pre 1970 music be gone forever from classic hits radio?

This brings up another interesting multiple choice question.....

What year will all pre 1970 music be gone forever from major and large market classic hits stations?

A-2008
B-2009
C-2010
D-2011
E-2012
F-2013
G-2014
H-2015
I-In the year 2525 if Chubby Checker is still alive
J-All of the above
K-None of the above
L-A and B but, not C

At this point, you might as well be asking "what year will major and large market classic hits stations be gone forever". Certainly, they're already "gone forever" for most anybody with a triple digit IQ...

RADIO TRUTH,

It's I.That's the only guaranteed year that all pre 1970 music will be gone from ALL radio. Plus, none of us will be around.

Thanks,
Kevin L. Sealy

It all depends on how soon they can convince their listeners that Donna Summers was part of The British Invasion. ;)

It will probably last about another 5 to 10 years. I say that because, I'm 50 now. Graduated high school in 1974. I'm almost "irrelevant" to advertisers now. By 2018, I will definitely be considered "dead" by the advertising community, even if I still breathe for 10 or 15 years after that.

What is concerning, though...is after the 80's music dies (assuming radio makes it that far), there's nothing behind it that, so far at least, seems to have any "legs" as a format at all. That will be a big concern, unless, something turns around from the research I'm presently seeing.

A "90's station"? Right now...don't hold your breath. Fewer than 100 songs from entire decade test. Not nearly enough for a format. But, sorry, I got off topic here.
