What's In A Name? CBS Takes Umbrage To New "48 HR" Show

CBS recently sent a cease-and-desist notice to the producer of a new newsmagazine program titled "48 HR" - the premise is, the show literally takes exactly two days to put together each show - insisting that it infringes on its own "48 Hours" series.

The producer had sent a tweet to his followers, warning that CBS "is going to try to [expletive] us over pretty hard" regarding the naming rights.

I wonder if that show "The First 48" ran into similar trouble?

"48 HR" is a print publication.

Which is ironic considering the 48 Hours title is absolutely meaningless. The original concept of the show (before it became yet another crime magazine show) was 48 hours in the life of ________. So the camera crew and reporter would follow the activities of a hospital emergency room, a police precinct, a disaster relief effort - or whatever - for 2 days.

This is another DToTheJ thread that is not accurate.

Just like this "Fox News Coming to Canada" thread: http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=170210.0

And this one almost makes it sound like Rosie O'Donnell will be getting a show on msnbc:
MSNBC Expands Primetime, Gives O'Donnell 10 PM Slot

http://boards.radio-info.com/smf/index.php?topic=170132.0

And this one speculates about Crossfire returning to CNN... Even though there is no mention of Crossfire in the article at all:

I hate to rake somebody over the coals... But if you're starting a new topic, read the article thoroughly before making a misleading or ill informed topic title.
