How long ago were you at QAM? and yes i know they were beaten 3 in a row but hey gotta start soMewhere and the MiaMi ticket quite honestly sucks and are gonna slowly disappear off the air if beasley doesnt buy theM

You need to read better. Said I worked in the biz previously. Never worked there.

"they got beat 3 in a row, but gotta start somewhere." ????????

That's sounds like great logic.

WAXY's January Trend was good QAM's was not. So, doesn't look good for QAM after beating WAXY in the last book (their first in a year).

WAXY is no longer a mom & pop operation they're now owned by a Fortune 50 company which could buy Beasley 10 times over. You need to have some knowledge or insight if you want to post around these parts buddy.

Have a nice day.

:D

(Enough of the nonsensical discussion).

To answer the question, it depends which aspect you are discussing.

WFAN is the originator & the best biller.

WEEI is the highest rated

KTCK has what I would deem the best programming (sports/guytalk)

I would say a combination of those 3.

The Ticket in Dallas is the most overrated sports talk station in America. They have hosts who are doing "guy talk" on AM radio. If they were any good they would be on the FM dial making a lot more money. If they were so good they would be attempting to compete against Howard Stern, Opie and Anthony and Leykis. If any host in Dallas was extremely talented they would get offers from NY,Chicago and LA. Get over yourself if you are in love with The Ticket. Cowboy talk 24/7 and guys who can only talk about pranks and what TV show sucked last night. Life in the Metroplex is lame!

a fortune 50 company that doesnt wanna be in radio anymore!

No one is buying radio stations. Ask Clear Channel how their most recent sale went? Plus, LF already got rid of their clusters that weren't making money. The 4 or 5 they have left are all profitable & by wide margins in some case. Miami is their most profitable.

Know your facts, then speak.

If they are billing over 20 million dollars every year. (KTCK is top 5 in the D/FW market in billing), with the horrible 1310 signal. How do you know if the hosts are not getting offers in other cities. D/FW is a top 5 radio market. Not everyone wants to work and live in NYC or LA. Give me Texas anyday over New Yuck City and Lost Angeles.

Also, Opie & Anthony and Stern are not on in DFW.

As for 24/7 Cowboys talk, the Cowboys are the bell cow in D/FW sports. Also being the AM flagship of the Dallas Cowboys Radio Network they should talk Cowboys.

I happen to think Dallas is a much better sports talk market than Los Angeles. The stations in L.A. are a joke. The only local show worth discussing is the Loose Cannons on KLAC. Outside of that its either very cookie cutter or just too over the top w/ pop culture wannabe's doing sports. NY is a different beast. WFAN is what it is a monster.

Every city outside of NY is dominated by a particular team or two.

I guess L.A. is Dodgers & Lakers, but that's really it. Boston is all Red Sox all the time on WEEI. Recently, they talk Celts & over the last few years Pats only b/c they're good. No one talked about them when they were in sports purgatory. Miami is driven by the Dolphins the HEAT got a little pub in the 3 yrs Shaq was there, Chicago by Cubs & Bears and D.C. is all Redskins all the time. So, its like that in most cities, 1 team dominates at times another 1 gets in the mix.
