What's With Super Talk Radio Network, Gordon Heiges, Carol Kramer, Grant Merrill

I found Pat Lynch on the internet some time back. When he's not embarrassing himself with his weekly contribution to the ArDemGaz, he's hosting a call-in talk show
which generates no calls and he's trumpeting his blog no one reads. Sometime back he and Gordon Heiges teamed up with the Crain Automotive folks and began broadcasting on Crain's stations feeding via his internet monument to PSMs. STAN (nee.APRN, until the idiots were informed APRN was already taken by Alaska Public Radio Network! ) even briefly teamed with the infamous Jerry Russell recently and included some of their stations in the mix. This arrangement ended about the time Lynch and Heiges jettisoned the only quality talent they had; Carol Kramer and Grant Merrill. What's become of these genuinely talented individuals? Carole would seem to be an especially decided asset to any talk format.
Lynch's ability to keep resurfacing in the Little Rock market is truly astounding!
Surely he should be considered in the casting of any remake of " The Living Dead ".

ATTN : New affilliates of the bogus APRN--Arkansas Priority Radio Network.

Gordon Heiges and the even more imbecilic WAI-RADIO crew have neglected to make a one-minute internet search of the acronym above and even after being informed of their illegal use; apparently are continuing to use it.

The wai-radio ( public service announcement enterprise ) trainwreck has recently celebrated its one year anniversary and utilizes the well-travelled ( frequently fired ) central arkansas radio personality, Pat Lynch, as its ( excuse the pun ) 'LYNCH'PIN! [EDIT]
Most of his guests are conservatives; David Sanders, Mark Johnson, Roby Brock, Laurie Taylor, Bill Vickery, Jim Holt, Ron Crawford... and far too dumb to expose Lynch's decades-long charade as a pinko/liberal leftist. Lynch even brags about his ACLU history.
[EDIT]
Until this past week, Lynch offered a tiny forum by which his listeners could present alternate views via a 'comments component' to the blog sites hyped on his program. Thus, listeners were afforded a tiny opportunity to respond to the opinionated idiocy Lynch spews out daily via the public airways.
Formerly, he had for decades, delighted in bullying listeners by denying them any opportunity for rebuttal; since Lynch carefully screens his calls and callers for even the feintest "signs of life " . Now, Lynch and crew have eliminated the comment component on their blogsites; shutting out any form of dissent .(Actually the decision to silence such dissent was fairly inconsequential as the number of comments rarely exceeded one per day.) The other WAI blog site has not been updated in months and thus has had no activity as I recall since April, 2006...the last time I checked.
It's amazing anyone would want to get aboard this runaway train...but radio is the home of such luminaries as Don Imus, Rush Limbaugh, Howard Stern, Bill O'Reilly,Michael Reagan, Glenn Beck, and Michael Smerconish ,isn't it ?
Oh ...back to the APRN debacle...that's easily corrected by changing the name to a more honest acronym..APSARN..Arkansas Public Service Announcement Radio Network..!

I heard Carole Kramer filling in for Becky Rogers on B98.5 this week. It was odd hearing her in the timeslot she occupied for so long... Grant Merrill (aka Media Mogul) has been on 103.7 The Buzz a lot lately doing some type of weekly college basketball show... He does more sports play-by-play than anyone I have ever seen. That network venture was an interesting idea that could have worked, but it seems like there was no promotion or ad revenue. They had approached our stations about coming on board but we didn't want a liberal and already had a morning show in place.

Grant Merrill is back working in his own backyard at KXIO Kix 106 in Clarksville. He's on the air and only about 15 minutes from home. Of course, that does not prevent him from doing b-ball play-by-play for the high school tournament anywhere and everywhere, as well.

Well Prodwhiz.... for the two people that had not figured out who Media Mogul is, they know now. (When this thing came on in 2003 I TRIED to get a name that would throw everyone off since I don't have any Mogulness about me at the moment..)

I appreciate and am thankful to the affiliates and radio stations that gave my part in the network a chance. I have no animousity against Gordon Heiges or any of the people there. Sometimes things just don't work out like you thought they were going to. I left of my own accord and am finishing up with college at ATU. They'll continue and I hope they do fine... I just want to get a college degree... (But at the same time how I managed to be fairly conservative and end up having an Air America station carry me for mornings is beyond me....)

During this time I am doing a little bit of on-air and some sales and a few management duties at KXIO. I thought I had forgotten how to play country music on the radio.

On the other... I did the Russellville Cyclones on KCJC and Ouachita Baptist this year for Jay Bunyard's stations. That means I was gone every night but Wednesday and Sunday! I am going to keep doing Cyclone stuff as long as they will have me. I love doing that for my hometown. They are a great group of people at River Valley Radio.

But I continue to do a bunch of games for everyone else. I guess I am to radio stations and play-by-play what that "easy girl that EVERYONE dated..." was to your senior class.... (But with that in mind.. if you guys need a ballgame filled you know where I am.. [email protected])

The show on 103.7 continues through next week... That has been a lot of fun.... that is one MOTHER of a signal!!

How come the sound quality on KDXE for ASTN is so lousy? It's not even listenable; it sounds heavily distorted and processed like it's coming through an old phone. The Air America later in the day is fine.

The problem with the sound quality is orginating at the feed end of the programming. It goes from Gordon's studios to Equity Broadcasting who uplinks it to a KU band satellite. The receiver used to recieve the programming on the KDXE end is of consumer grade and therein lies the problem. KDXE has a new solid state xmtr so the signal quality has improved, but still limited by a 6 tower directional array.
