What's your NFL team's radio flagship and how long has it been so?

Philadelphia Eagles: WYSP-94.1 since about 1992.

Baltimore Ravens: This is their first season on WBAL-1090 after being on WJFK-1300 since 1996, their first season.

OK, your turn.

Miami Dolphins: 790 WAXY since 2005/105.9 WBGG since 2006
(Fins have only had 2 other flagships that I know of: 610 WIOD from Inception to 1996 and 560 WQAM from 1997 to 2004)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: 620 WDAE & 103.5 WFUS since 2004

Jacksonville Jaguars: 690 WOKV since the team's inception in 1995.

We don't have an NFL team in Los Angeles, but the Raiders have been on KLAC since 2004 and the Chargers have been on KMPC 1540 since 2004. When they were here the Rams were on the old KMPC 710 and the Raiders were on KNX, KRLA and KFI while they were here. The Raiders have been on one station or the other here since they moved back to Oakland and in various years, we have had the local broadcasts of the 49ers, Chargers and St. Louis Rams.

The relationship between WTMJ (Milwaukee) and the Green Bay Packers goes back to 1929.

Current NFL flagships for New York

The Giants' flagship is SportsRadio 66/WFAN. Infinity [now CBS Radio] has originated the Giants radio network since 1997 and carried Big Blue on The Fan since 2000.

The Jets' flagship is 1050 ESPN Radio [WEPN] and has been since 2003. In fact, the J-E-T-S just signed a 2-year extension to stay with 1050 ESPN through 2008. 77 WABC simulcasts most Jets PxP but not pregame or postgame shows.

The Indianapolis Colts since moving to Indianapolis in 1984 have been on
WIBC-1070 1984-1991
WNDE-1260, WFBQ-94.7 1992-1995
WIBC-1070, WNAP-93.1 1995-1998
WFBQ-94.7 1999-2006
WIBC-1070, WLHK-97.1 2007-

The New England Patriots are currently in their 12th year on WBCN 104.1 FM.

It's not exactly an NFL team :-[ but the Cleveland Browns' radio rights have been held by CC/Cleveland since 1999. http://ohiomedia.blogspot.com/2006/12/breaking-news-browns-clear-channel.html"]The contract was recently renewed until 2008, with a 2009 option[/url]. So one can expect to hear more butt-kissing of the Lerner regime by AM home(r) news/talker WTAM/1100. The official flagship is famed but faded rock station WMMS/100.7 - and has been since 2002. WTAM have only been able to carry the games since 1999 once the Indians MLB season (which they also carry) concludes.

Sister station WMJI/105.7 was the flagship from 1999 to 2001. The switch of stations was all about ratings. WMJI has always been at or near the top, but WMMS' ratings were really in the toilet when the move took place. It's not as if the ratings really improved with the move, as early on people would just listen to the games and flee afterwards (with 13 different morning shows since 1994, can you blame them?)

Now, the history: WMMS' original AM sister station, WHK/1420, was the flagship from 1968 to 1984, and then again from the late 80's to 1993. Sometime in the early 80's (if not when WHK-FM evolved into WMMS in 1968) WMMS started simulcasting the games - coincidentally enough, when WMMS was the undisputed #1 station in the market. I even have in my possession a Bud Light/WMMS Browns cardboard face mask - with the iconic Spike MacKensie on one side and the equally iconic "WMMS Buzzard" on the other.

Prior to WHK's first turn in 1968, WGAR/1220 carried the games for much of the 50's and 60's, if not earlier. Coincidentally, WGAR-AM's successor WKNR/1220 (which was then owned by Cablevision and now operates at AM/850) was the flagship from 1993 to the team's move in 1996. In an odd quirk that would be hard to try now, Independent Group Ltd.-owned WDOK/102.1 (now owned by CBS Radio) had the FM rights.

Pittsburgh Steelers are on WDVE-FM 102.5 for six or seven years, I think. This ended a nearly thirty-year run on WTAE-AM 1250 (now ESPN 1250). For many of those years they were simulcast on TAE's sister station (under many calls) at 96.1. Games are currently simulcast on Fox Sports 970 AM, which ironically carried the games originally in the 40's and 50's as WWSW.

the Seattle Seahawks games have been on 710 KIRO since game 1 of the Seahawks existence in 1976, although for a few years in the late 90's and 2000-2002 when the Seattle Mariners were also on 710 KIRO, the Seahawks aired their games on an Entercom owned FM station in the market during September and part of October while the Mariners games aired on KIRO. By the way, the two FM stations the Seahawks aired their games on were KISW 99.9 and KQBZ 100.7 The Buzz(now 100.7 The Wolf KKWF).

Dolphins move back to WQAM for the 2007-2009 seasons. In doing so, they make WQAM kick off the Marlins and likely let go of the Panthers.

The Miami Dolphins are returning to WQAM, but they are keeping Jimmy Cefelo as Play by Play man. and he is not very good.
He is a terrific sports talk host but they need either to bring back Howard David or Bill Zimpher!
