When did 96 Rock become 95.9 The Sports Animal??

I noticed in the News Journal that the Orioles games this year are on 95.9 in Bethany Beach. That seemed odd for a hard rock station so I checked their web site and found they are now an ESPN sports station. They don't come in that well in Wilmington but usually make some late night appearances once the humidity kicks in.

Kiss was on 105.5 but that was sold to K-Love earlier this year. That is when The Sports Aminal went back to just AM.

Clear Channel had to sell two stations when they were sold several years ago. Kiss 105.5 was one of those stations, along with 92.1 the Wave. The station's were sold to a national religious broadcaster for their K-Love format. Clear Channel then moved Kiss to 95.9. They still run two AM Sports stations 960 and 1470, But the Salisbury Ocean City market has been an FM market longer then most markets. The Orioles are on WICO-FM, which is all Syncidated Talk weekdays, and Music on weekends.
