When did WWF All American Wrestling air on the USA Network for the first time in 1983?

When did WWF All American Wrestling air on the USA Network for the first time in 1983?

I know that it aired the last time on Sunday October 16th, 1994

But what when did it actually began (September or October)?

SWCW was run by Tully Blanchard's father, if I remember right. Joe Blanchard? As for WWF/E in 1994, I think that's when it was modified to WWF Action Zone or something like that.

I've heard two versions of why AAW replaced SWCW. One was that the blood on one Southwest show was so offensive to USA Network brass that the show was canceled immediately and the WWF stepped in. The other is that the WWF had already paid USA more than Blanchard could ever afford to for the time slot and USA simply put All American on as soon as Vince McMahon wanted it on. The latter always made more sense to me, especially since that first AAW episode was an in-depth look at WWF champion Bob Backlund -- a perfect introductory hour that couldn't have just happened with a few days' notice.
