WHEN WILL WE HAVE A 24- HOUR ALL SPORTS STATION IN NEW ORLEANS

thats the question i ask and really is is that hard to answer, i am starving for a station like this i think it can be done. You want to blow away the BIG 870 my suggestion is this get a group with vision to buy a station and able to get a strong transmitter also mix in veteran sports people and l young hungry knowledgeable and personable people to your lineup and you are well on your way.

Gosh, I sure hope they hire Wilkie. That would make it a sure winner.

Maybe they can also get Zeke, G-Cat, and Mitchell to help?

1350 is being discussed you say, what i hear is that they are gettin ESPN radio but i ask will they incorporate a majority block of local sports talk. ned let me know dude what you know of this situation..Also who may be involved in this transition.

1350's call letters will change to WWWL or something like that. Hopefully they go outside of their current "talent" on WWL and bring some professional local sports talk to the air waves.

1350's callsign is officially WWWL since they began their time shift game (FCC says November 11,2006)

RFLA

According to Tom Fitzmorris' newsletter, 1350 will flip to ESPN Radio on June 30, but his show will remain, so it will be "mostly" sports.

No local talk except for food! That's my idea of a sports talk station. They'll probably lose the .4 they have with WWL reruns and go down to WODT/WGSO ratings land.

Food Show's on from 4 to 7 - so they don't have network sports going up against local sports talk on WWL.

Hope they carry some of ESPN Radio's play-by-play stuff.

Yesterday 1350 had the LSU game. 870 was playing local crap programming. ?? Its the College World Series why would they do that? So we could listen to some hourse guy talk about Katrina? hey WWL Katrina was 3 years ago! ::)

now you see my point why we need a 24 hour local sports talk format its for those dopes at WWL that do what you said while LSU was playing in the College World Series they want to rehash old ghistory, come on you idiots Katrina was 3 years ago we are all in some way always going to remember that horrific day and days following but three words for you guys at WWL LIFE GOES ON !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What will happen to WODT 1280? I believe 1210 & 1300 in Baton Rouge have similar ESPN programing, how is that working out? ???

Sorry, I just noticed the earlier WODT flip to gospel post. Nevermind... :-[

And for the record, 1210 and 1300 share no programming. 1300 got ESPN - 1210 added more local shows to fill out the schedule, and the rest of the time, it's Fox Sports Radio.

From "All Access" 6/30/08: ENTERCOM Talk WWWL-A/NEW ORLEANS, which has been airing time-shifted programming from sister Talk WWL-A-F, has flipped to Sports to pick up the ESPN RADIO programming jettisoned by crosstown CLEAR CHANNEL Sports WODT-A when it flipped to Gospel last WEDNESDAY.

I am glad that there is now a 24 Hour Sports Channel The Food Show should air on WWL 870 on the weekends
