Being a native of Atlanta. I have listen to numerous djs for radio stations in this city come & go. I started to wonder about some of these djs. The topic of favorite djs while growing up got me started. So, I decide to start a game of where are they now?
Here is who I remember so far:

Surf-Fill in/Weekends on 99X, Domino-Power 99 & WMAX(the 80s channel), Alan Ayle & Greg Clarkston of 96Rock, Lona Love & Fred Zepplin-part of The Rude Awakeing on 96Rock, Craig Ashwood-94Q(changed to Star94 in 1989),Charlie of Charlie & Company morning show-Z 93, Marcia Shipley-sidekick to The Greaseman, Mackenzine Phillps-Z93, Dick & Justice-afternoons on 96rock before Southside & Rhodes.

i forgot to add Beth Keppel

Well, in the "where are they now" category, for me anyway the answer is: Atlanta. After shlepping around the country as a PD in Miami, Washington D.C., San Francisco, back to D.C.--I returned to Atlanta to be closer to my son. I work for Cox Radio, off-air, but I'm not in programming any more. The only thing I do as far as on-air work goes now is the national radio for Outback Steakhouse. No rules, just right!

Dick (of Dick & Justice) was with Dave up until about a year ago. I heard he left to persue hiw writing.

Nativeatlanta wants to say thanks to people who responded to my question of where are they now? If any more respones,I like to see them posted.

Last I heard Beth Koeppel was working for either Airtran or Delta at Hartsfield but that was a couple of years ago.

Heh?

Fussbudget--say hey to Marcia Shipley. I remember her from the old Kiss-FM in Columbus. That's a station that should have lasted longer than it did.

Jeff

96 Rock has always had a strong air staff. Where have Rude, Ditch, Johnny Turner, and Surf ended up? These are the folks I remember from 96Rock in the early '00's.

Rude is working at 680 The Fan. Ditch is dj on KGB 101-San Diego's Classic Rock. He works the afternoon drive home shift.

What about the guys from Z93's hey day? Where are they? Read John Young on this board a few weeks back. What about the others? Mel Cargo, Randy Reeves, Dale O' Brien, Steve Maples. Of course we know about Brian Wilson and Ross Brittain along with Steve McCoy. Also, what about former 94Q Yetta Levitt and Willis the Guard. Another one during those time was Jeff McCartney. We all know Gary McKee enjoying retirement (still praying for his family also since his son passed away a couple of years ago). Craig Hunt also from Star 94 is another one which I believe he is in Colorado now on a country station.

I forgot about the djs from Z-93. I should know better. I rememer Steve Maple worked at 96Rock also too,if memory is correct. Whatever happen to Chase & Woodside? Morning Jocks on Z-93 during early 80s. I remember the urban legend about them.

Have no clue about Scott Woodside, although he was on B98.5 fm some years ago during thier all seventies weekends. But Barry Chase passed on some years back.
Sad but true. Barry had a succesful music on hold business for a while. Is it not really odd that all of us ask these questions? I think were longing for fun , real raido once again. I think that one day radio as we know it will go back to live and local.
It cannot survive forever in its current state.

Any suggestions what a former radio dude like myself can do in the Atlanta area to earn a living? Currently 100% unemployed. I'm a computer hardware expert, if that helps.

HIRE ME!!!!! :-D
