Where around the web is there a map?... of the locations of PBS stations

Where around the web is there a map?... of the locations of PBS stations' originating cities.

The top of the front page at http://pbs.org has a mechanism to select or change a station, listings for each state but not formatted in a map!

Most places online that show where affiliates are for a particular network, show them as a list or in a similar text form. You won't find too many (if any) listings of stations set up in a map form. I think MeTV does a map of pinpoints, but you have to click on them or pass your mouse over them to list where the pinpoint is and what station is represented there. As for your question, I've not heard of a map of PBS station locations.

Bear in mind that map also shows translators... I don't have a nifty split between originating stations and translators.

"Useless" is a point of view. I try not to takes points of view in my listings. For example, I find TBN and other religious channels to be useless, but others do not. (dhett will back me up on this one.)

The only thing that is probably truly and objectively useless are subchannels running a black screen or color bars!

Indeed, I will. Remember, the only reason why shopping channels exist is that people actually order from them. While infomercials are annoying to many of us, they work.

Not quite. On the New England TV board they mention that WCVB is running color bars and tones on Channel 5.2 because ME-TV is launching on October 1st and 5.2 is a new channels. There never was a 5.2 before.

And speaking of useless.

Channel 3.2 Hartford - simulcast of WSHM-LD Springfield, Mass.
Channel 3.4 Hartford - WFSB Fairfield County. A simulcast of WFSB for Fairfield County subscribers of Cablevision with local Fairfield County ads inserted. There's not even many ads airing. Most ads are PSAs.

Channel 30.2 New Britain/Hartford - NBC Plus. - An automated bastardized version of the former NBC Weather Plus.

Not true. For many years 5.2 had the weather radar.
