I was reading about some new voices at KOMO AM and now I am wondering where is Jim Reed -- of KOMO AM and KIRO News Talk. Great voice. How many newsmen can loose two news vehicles at Mt. St. Helens.
Sadly, Jim passed away several years ago. He was out of radio, working at his wife's promotion company. I forget the exact circumstances, but it was before 2000, I believe.
Nice memories of a couple of late night-post cop-beat meals with Jim at The Dog House.
Thanks Rich. Sad news indeed -- but that is a fate that awaits all of us. While radio will be -- like the air that we all need to live -- it is the "radio people" that end up meaning more to us than radio itself. Jim was one of those "Radio People".
