I remembered Nahan from KABC-TV, and I left LA in 73. So I looked him up:
KABC-TV (1968–1977)
KNBC (1977–1986)
KTLA (1988–1999).
So really, he was in the LA market for 20 years before joining KTLA.

here is one link saying that Stu Nahan had a stint in Sacramento and that's when KCRA was a startup TV station at the time.
Wow I'm amazed Sacramento TV market has produced so many people that went on to have longest TV tenures somewhere else. Gary Radnich, Pete Wilson these two didn't even last in the Sacramento Valley when they were on KTXL 40 Sacramento but later went on to San Francisco they have been mentioned for being the highest paid talent in the San Francisco Area in the 1990's.
Kim Khazei she was on KOVR 13 when it was an ABC Affiliate in Sacramento and didn't really last that long here. But Once WHDH got her then she became a TV legend in the Boston Area for 20 years approximately.
David Ono and Ellen Leyva these two were on competing stations in the Sacramento area around the 1990's but ended as Co-hosts of ABC 7 Eyewitness News in Los Angeles replacing Harold Greene and Laura Diaz and they have been on KABC for 20 years.
Kaity Tong she had a short stint at KCRA 3 before New York TV stations WABC and WPIX got her and became New York TV legend.
Susan Hirasuna and Tony McEwing they were on competing stations in Sacramento in the 1980's but they were forgotten TV talent in Sacramento. However once these two went to Los Angeles specifically Fox 11 they became the longest tenured anchors for the Fox Owned stations and they were there ever since the early years of Fox approximately since 1990.
And don't forget Lester Holt of NBC News he was an intern at KCRA3 and Sacramento State University student in the 1980's and
He went on to replace Bill Kurtis in Chicago on WBBM News for a few years before NBC got him nearly 20 years ago to host shows for MSNBC and do fill ins for NBC Nightly News and Today before he became the main NBC nightly news host.
Has there ever been DMA's similar to Sacramento where they somehow managed to have TV talent that went on to become legends somewhere else?
