WHJJ weasel's out of putting on local talent but staying local

Complete simulcast of WJAR 10 starting at 5 am till tfn.

So let's look at this from a logical point of view, shall we...

WHJJ, who doesn't have a full news department, and airs mostly syndicated programming, is making the *GOOD* choice to simulcast a local TV station, who does have a full news department and will be doing live coverage.
And this is bad?
Would you rather they stuck to the syndicated fair?

It's not like they're going to rehire an entire news department, install news gear, etc, in 3 days, before the storm.

It's not like they're going to rehire an entire news department, install news gear, etc, in 3 days, before the storm.

No,They should have somewhat of a staff at all to be able to produce their own product.There is another station in Providence you may have heard.WPRO.They hav'nt been around that long.Only about 75 years.Who have the manpower to maneuver air staff around to produce thier own product.

If Chris Dipaola can organize a staff to at least do something I would expect alot more out of WHJJ.This is an example of a radio station not serving the public the way it should.Now when the blank is about to hit the fan.A deal is made with a TV station for a simulcast.
I'm sure there is alot of people who share my opinion here.

There are four stations in that building each of them should have at least 2 people on the air locally so in case of an emergency.the staff can come in and step in.

What will happen if their computer system craps out.No staff to at least run CD's manually or spots.news nothing.

I share your opinion... The state of these radio stations with zip for local talent is a disgrace. I look forward to hearing silence on 920, 93.3, and the rest of Crap Channels junk (except HJY)
