WHO ELSE REFUSES TO WATCH TV LAND'S 35 MINUTE SHOWS WITH 50%+ COMMERCIALS

Sorry TV LAND but those expanded shows you are showing with expanded commercials
(17 minutes of commercials, 18 of show) are not being seen in my house. Even if it is a
good show that I like, I refuse to watch them.

One additional reason I dumped cable. If there is a series I really like and want to watch I'll either find it online or, for half the cost of a month of cable, I'll buy the DVD's and have the series forever and without commercials.

Thanks TVland!

Aw geez, TV Land. You flip over to them and they're in a stopset. You try again
five minutes later and they're still in the stopset. Lather, rinse, repeat... ::)

The only hassle is scheduling the VCR/DVR to cover the overlapping/incorrect times. I just add 10 minutes either way.

Haven't watched "live tv" in almost 20 years. What are these things called commercials?

One of the most commom tricks is to backload 4-5 min of commercials in the last commercial break. But there's usually a 2nd option,,,

Don't some channels speed up the shows, just a little bit so you don't really notice? Thus being able to fit more commercial in

I will offer the opinion that those who enjoy Tvlands primetime programming don't really care. They will watch regardless, and this is what Tvland is depending on. I think some of us purists do not represent the masses, and that is why Tvland does what they do.

You make a point with this, and the fact that unless you're a Nielsen family whether you watch something or not, doesn't effect the outcome either way as no one knows what you're watching or not watching

I may watch something on there like Home Improvement, Everybody Loves Raymond, or The Nanny, but not with these long commercials and weird start times. I don't bother with them when it comes to classic shows. I'll take Me-TV for that, thank you.

Do they even show anything anymore except Everybody Loves Raymond and
this new Betty White sitcom?

I have too many other choices if I want to watch Raymond.

TV Land was - at one time - one of my favorite channels. That's gradually changed to the point where I almost never watch anymore. Maybe it was the "reality" programming, maybe it was the reruns of "not so classic" shows, and maybe it was the disrespectful (cut to shreds) way in which shows that I actually want to watch are treated.

Truncated theme music, squashed/obliterated credits, missing scenes, all for the benefits of a few extra minutes with Life Alert or the jerkballs from Esurance.com? And the stopsets are excruciatingly long. Absurdly long. Unwatchably long.

With the combination of MeTV and MeToo (plus Antenna TV) that it available to me now, I see no need to even check the listings with respect to what's on TV Land.

TV Land, you're dead to me now.

Has anyone noticed the latest trickery Hallmark is using?..the "pantomine" segments used during the closing credits of "Frasier" have been deliberately sped up, and now resemble a silent movie,..I wonder how much time this shaves off? is it enough for even a :10 avail?..

I saw Me TV while in Seattle earlier this summer, unfortunately where I live now it doesn't exist on my cable system. I was impressed with this product.
