Who FIRST Tipped Off The Press About Imus' Remark? Who Had Imus' Back @ CBS/NBC?

Who was the first blogger, website, news organization, radio host or organization to START the ball rolling by SPREADING THE WORD of Imus' now famous remark on his Wednesday, April 4, 2007 show (by time and date)?

This appears to be the first posting about the Imus incident on the net at 6 PM EDT on Wednesday, April 4 http://mediamatters.org/items/200704040011 IF I AM WRONG, SOMEONE PLEASE CORRECT ME. Also, its claimed that one or more of George Soros funded organizations, such as MoveOn.org, sent out faxes and emails about Imus' remarks (credit to radiosaur for posting that).

Left-leaning Media Matters, which, even though they deny it, is also said to be funded by George Soros. Media Matters just put together an extensive report of remarks made by conservative talk show hosts that they don't like. Soros wants the Fairness Doctrine reinstated and has "convinced' a few Democrats to get that started.
Ironically (?), George Soros is also said to be funding Barrack Hussein Obama, the ONLY Presidential candidate who came out and said Imus should be fired. Is this all "coincidece"?

Also on Imus, who had his "back"? I've only heard that Imus was given the choice to take himself off the air (which he should have done). Why was there seemingly NO crisis control early on at CBS and NBC (well, really, I don't think there ever was any...or at least any that was good)? Why would you let your talent go into enemy territory (Sharpton) where you could not control the situation? Why would you go on a show where the host was calling for you to be fired? Who was giving Imus the (bad) advice/direction to do/say or NOT SAY OR DO the things he did for damage control?

I live in Hollywood, and it is well known that you immediately hire spin doctors, publicists and lawyers to do damage control, you apologize, beg forgiveness and then you disappear. Why was Imus left, seemingly, to hang himself? These are major corporations that have gone through this many times before. I just can't believe that they would not have stopped Imus from saying and doing so many of the things he did wrong (almost everything really). I don't know but It just doesn't seem kosher to me...

I worked in theater on Broadway, same ethos- smaller area.

When someone is left spinning in the wind like this, its usually because they aren't well liked by their collegues.

At any rate, Sherlock, you've made over 60 posts on this thing and its over. If you know the media, you know how quickly the page is turned. Move-On (pun intended).

Bo Dietel (sp?) said on CNN with Paula last night that he had told Imus to not go on with Sharpton who the now obvious reasons. And also please note that discussions had already been gooing on to clean up the Imus show.

Imus would not take himself off the air before the annual radiothon to raise money to treat kids with cancer. And that radiothon raised more money than ever this year, even though WFAN removed Imus after the first day.

And who had Imus' back? No one. And that is sad. You are paying a guy $10-million per year and making nearly that in profit off his show and you throw him under the bus? Sell your CBS related stock. NOW!
