bucwhyl said:We have no good hip hop stations here anymore, but 97.9 The Beat is soooo disappointing to me. I've said it before and I'll say it again, 97.9 The Beat was an awesome hip hop station when Darrell Johnson was P.D. and George Laughlin was G.M..

Lessee
Rich = Broke=You're jealous
Talented = Couldn't even win a talent show=But has a record deal
Tough = Assault & Battery type=Not afraid to stand up for themselves unlike others
Dangerous = Should be in jail=Label put on them by this dumb-a$$ society
Big-D = Only Howard Stern would care=Don't get mad if some of us are blessed and others are not
Yeah baby!! ;D
I was actually commenting on just that...the music now is trash. And I used to wear Puma and fat laces, but I grew up. The music got more immature and just downright stupid.salemjedi54 said:If you don't know the format, lifestyle and music of hip hop, then don't comment on it. Unfortunately, what is out there today is trash. If you never have put on a suede Puma with fat laces, then hush ya mouth.

And surely Bucwhyl isn't going to argue that the rap played on the HH stations here don't pretty much stick to the same tired issues and they all say the exact same thing, while each trying to be more vulgar and dirty than the last "hit".
bucwhyl said:I agree with you and Salem. A majority of today's hip hop is garbage. What I have a problem with is the sterotypical label placed on hip hop. I love hip hop, and although it it has changed alot from when I was a teenager, hip hop will always have a place in my life. I will continue to be offended when people who don't know sh!t about it, and doesn't even listen to it, is critical of it.
