My vote goes to Jen Lipp and Rick Rodden on the BLAZE, they have the best, they have good stuff ,and also play good Classic Rock in between, I like local, not syndicated shows. The Rev and Doug would come in second, what does anybody else think?

the last rating was up for the Station,

Jen Lipp took over mornings as Rick got the PD Job, The morning show kicks as* now in my opinion, lots of local stuff!! LOVE IT!!!! Jen Lipp You Rock!!! You too 105.1 The Blaze.. LOL

I Agree, since the PD change I'v noticed improvements in the morning show and the overall station, I think the ratings will go up.

Radio Fresno Inc. is right, we haven't had the ratings impact we wanted in the morning. I've read a bunch of comments on this board about the Blaze imaging catering to the "lowest common denominator" and I think you guys hit the nail right on the head. We are working to re-postion ourselves as a station that plays kick ass rock and a lot of it. I do think Jen Lipp is an A+ talent and I'm hoping that she will help the station grow now that she doesn't have my punk ass holding her back.

Do answer the original question. I think Jen's show is great. I also really like what I hear from Jody Jo on K-Hits (albeit, I'm a little biased). I have a lot of respect for both Doug Ray and the Rev. But my vote for best local morning show would go to Ray Appleton, like him or not, he's the man in this market. Best local music morning show in my opinion is B-95's Juice Crew, G-Man is a smart guy and Andre Covington is one of the funniest mofo's in Fresno.

Let's put one thing in perspective... Rick and Jen had ONE down book. That's it. Anyone else here ever have a down book? There were also some severe technical challenges during the month of May (worst month of the Spring book by a mile) that the posters on this board may not be aware of. Rick is right, Jen is an A+ talent, so is he. Does anyone remember how long it took Chris Daniel to pull dominant numbers? A couple of years (ironically about the time Jen arrived)... and the Front Row didn't have to go up against an established syndicated show until they themselves were established. The Front Row had about a 4 year head start on Howard Stern and Bob and Tom and obviously were amazingly successful. Imagine though if Howard Stern had been in the market for 15 years and then the Front Row came along. Tough battle to say the least despite the considerable talent level on that show. Anyone can spout the phrase "the morning show doesn't pull ratings" but it doesn't tell the entire story. It takes time to build a successful morning show in this market. One year isn't close to enough time.

It wasn't just the STL but yes it was the popping noises. What really confused our engineer is that he thought he was trying to find a single problem. It turned out that while our STL was causing occasional dropouts (maybe 2 one second dropouts per hour), the bigger issue was that a card in our digital board was faulty. So at first he thought it was the STL, replaced it, and the pops kept happening. They would replace or tweak something and we'd wait to see if it would work. 2 weeks of that. Sometimes we'd go a few hours with no issues and hope the problem was solved.... but no. Once we got it figured out it took 10 days to get the card fixed and re-installed. Once that was re-installed we still got the minor dropouts from the STL and it was then we realized that we had 2 issues simultaneously so then they replaced the STL and finally we were done. Very frustrating. In my 20 year career I've never seen anything like it.

Thank you!! Perfectly said Andy!!!!

the blaze could use more jocks too...best morning show? i gotta go with jennifer lipp, though i did like it better with roddam and her teamed up...content is tight...add a good solid co host with jennifer and the blaze could really start to pull some good numbers in the mornings....doug and the rev are good....alice & y101 are garbage in the morning imo

Like I stated before, Dave Luna on 97.5 gets my vote for best show. I know it is a Merced station but, I can't think of anyone else I like to listen to,(at least locally). I don't like nationally syndicated shows either, like Bob and Tom...THEY SUCK!!!

Dave Luna is very good....sounds great...and sounds happy to be on the air.... alot jocks sound just there, like it's a real job, and they don't enjoy themselves...and the young jocks (under 30) sadly have no clue. local is the way to go, local local local, thats the way to win in fresno.

I said it before if lotus went more local they'd really have a shot in this market with The Blaze and K-Hits.
